Just a heads up, the Arctic Fox should be in stock very soon, within the next day or two, for anyone interested.

Saarlooswolfhound

Thank you Shane! I hope to make an order soon.

EpicRaptorMan

Hopefully the grey parrot and silky shark will be right behind it.

Probably closer to November for those.

:D Thanks Shane! Any idea when the Estemmenosuchus will be available? I understand if that detail is still foggy.

Should also be very soon! Possibly even today.

EDIT in fact it is available now.

The Everglades toob is one of those ideas I wouldn't have asked for, but looks really cool and I'm glad is coming, just like the Europe toob earlier this year. We definitely needed a manatee and it's nice to see new sculpts for the otter and black bear, but all of the animals new and old look great.

Glad you guys are still making lots of new toobs!

I got these two in a few days ago. I love them! Photos taken at sunset so the orange is a bit much but... in person it is pretty orange.

Boy what an ugly "mug"!! ;D

My fox is pretty pearly white, it doesn't have a "dirty wash" like some were anticipating given the promo pics.

No sculpted or painted toe pads... but the feet are sculpted to be furry. Some arctics can have such fuzzy feet the pads don't really show so this is a nice  detail.

And it has a very nice face IMHO.

I held off on getting the CollectA Estemmenosuchus for a while but finally bit the bullet back in 2022 maybe. I would prefer a Safari version, but I am not quick to replace recent purchases, unless it's a substantially better version, which it's not. One thing the Safari figure may have going for it is it's a slightly better scale then the CollectA version, which is pretty big (actually for many dinosaur specialist collectors, the CollectA tube Estemmenosuchus is at a better scale!)

Nice fox too, I look forward to your formal Blog review of it  8)  C:-)

I personally am a sucker for the weird critters. And being able to have four Estemmenosuchus figures makes me happy!

But it would be nice if someone would remember Moschops. Or Sphenacodon. Or any number of other synapsids...In terms of scale, I'd even be happy with a toob series (@Shane ...! ;) )

I would like an updated Moschops. I keep being tempted to buy one of the Marx figures on eBay and having it custom painted, but to date have held off on doing so.

I'm just happy I got my hands on the Moschops from FaunaCasts back when he was making figures.
But I also do have the Marx. And Definitely Dinosaurs one too.

Arctinus

I like the Arctic fox, even though I already have one.

I don't have many Safari figures yet, but does anyone know which of their lines compare to Papo's, Collecta's and Schleich's in terms of size? I know Incredible Creatures line has huge figures. I thought of getting the new elk, but then realised it's too large for my collection.  :)

It's hard to compare Safari's wildlife figures to other brands because Safari can be all over the map with regards to size. Many things match up very well, but sometimes wildlife is large compared to other companies (recent examples include the honey badger, maned wolf, and mandrill). You have to take each on a case-by-case basis based on measurements or comparative pics.

@Saarlooswolfhound has been posting her collection with lots of comparative pics, since she's not a synoptic collector. I suggest looking at her thread for good comparison pics.

Thanks, that's good to know!

Yes, I've been following her thread, which I find very helpful (and interesting).  ;D

Thank you Blaine and Arctinus! I am now excited to add that I can easily accomodate for comparison requests again! If there is any Safari model you are particularly curious about, I can do a comparison for you if I have it. :) Just message me privately or in my collection thread. :D

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.  ^-^  There are still some primarily Collecta and Papo figures I'd like to get, so I'm up-to-date with the latest releases (I started collecting last May, I think). After that I'll probably check out/focus on Safari (so far I've got their racoon and anteater, but I think that's it  ??? ).

And those are both rather large models compared to other brands. :) Just let me know if I can be any further assistance.

Back on topic, nothing else new has come into stock yet but they do have the paper catalogue for '23 now posted for anyone interested in those.
