CollectA figures arrived! Love them all!

Today I received the long-armed marine hermit crab by Epoch (Earth Life Journey). There is no name in Latin on the papers, but Pagurus longicarpus is the name usually applied to this species with this common name.

and here it is with my other marine hermit crabs (Paguridae and Diogeniidae). It should be noted that marine hermit crabs are not in the same family as the terrestrial hermit crabs and coconut crabs (Coenobitidae), the latter of which is more-commonly represented in toy figure form. Although diogeniids and coenobitids are apparently closer related to each other than either are to the pagurids.

from left to right:
1) P. longicarpus (Epoch, Earth Life Journey)
2) Dardanus megistos (Cadbury, Yowies)
3) Pagurus samuelis (Yujn [later Takara TOMY], Shrimps and Crabs Collection)
4) anemone hermit crab, Pagurus pedunculatus (Yujin [later Takara TOMY], Shrimps and Crabs Collection]

Note: my P. samuelis is from the original Yujin set and does not have a second shell.

got it...hahaha. Thank you eBay. There is actually this model, as well as a 38 cm vinyl model! I think this is enough, but I might get the larger vinyl one at a later date.

What seller and how much? There's a pretty big range.

Of course, if it's a US seller, and they use that stupid service, then nobody outside the US should bother, since the costs triples due to duties and taxes that otherwise wouldn't be charged.

honestly I don't remember where the dealer was from; I am thinking Japan.

The large price range is because there are two figures (one twice as big as the other); make sure you are comparing prices for the same figure.

I've seen the different versions--it's just a matter of avoiding US sellers that use the new ebay parcel service--were they ship to a common point before shipping to the customer, and charge extra for the service.

I can't find any of the Dunkleosteus right now for less that $16 which is more than the $10 or so that they are selling for in online stores. I just have to find one that has one in stock!

Amazing! Congrats, OkapiBoy! :) Seeing you received Favorite Prehistoric Life and Marine Life and Kaiyodo Aquatales - did you order from HLJ? Because - a long awaited parcel from them finally reached me today, too. ^-^

Does that mean that things are now in stock--because that would be good news!

brontodocus

I hope OkapiBoy lets us know - myself I didn't dare to backorder Favorite from HLJ, yet, so I just went for the Aquatales. But I'd love to buy quite a few Favorite figures from them, too.

So these were in the mail today:

^nice!

Schleich Galapagos tortoise
not much to say about it, Schleich may often fall short on dinosaurs but most of their modern animals are pretty good, and this one certainly is, theres a fair bit of paint wear, scuffs, and even a strange flattened bit on the shell, but for a second hand figure I'm more than satisfied

widukind

Congrats for this Schleich tortoise!! :)

sauroid

Lots of new acquisitions everyone!  ^-^

brontodocus

Nice new additions, sauroid, congrats! :) Now you need the colugo figure for the Colorata Orangutan, too (and also the flying fox, these two are the ones to be attached to the tree by clear plastic rods). Oh, and I'd love to see more of the Mojö Fun Orca, interested in making a walk-around of it?
