Recently got these four figures at an aquarium in Munich. These were the only ones they had and there was just this single shark left. I'm pretty sure I've seen the ray somewhere before, but can't remember. They don't have any markings on their undersides or anywhere else, so some kind of knock-offs?

Definitely look like Safari LTD knockoffs. The Ray might be a knockoff of SafariLTD's IC Marbled Ray

I checked the Toy Animal Wiki and I think it might be the same mold as the Chap Mei ray. Don't have the figure at hand, but it looks the same to me.

@Arctinus even the Chap Mei Ray itself just looks like a generic knockoff. I can't tell you how many times I've seen that sculpt over the decades.

Arctinus

@EpicRaptorMan I've noticed more and more of these knock-offs, even the ones imitating Papo and Schleich, in various shops lately. Sold as sets even. But parents probably buy those because they're not collectors and don't know better.  :P

I've recently started removing bases from figures that are attached to them.  This has allowed me to own figures that I otherwise couldn't have and I couldn't be happier!  I now have:

1. Papo greater flamingo.  Its feet actually have pegs that are inserted into and glued to the base.  It was easy to detach the flamingo from the base and then I cut the pegs off.  I love this figure!  I ended up getting three different flamingo figures, which replace my Playmobil flamingos.  The Playmobil flamingos are good, but they are a different kind of toy and not for me.  I'm so happy to have figures of flamingos now, they are what I needed.

2. Safari American flamingo.  For this figure, I had to cut the base off.

3. Schleich Chilean flamingo.  This one too I had to cut the base off of.

4. Papo heron.  I'm delighted with this figure!  It's so good!  This figure also has its feet glued to the base, although this time without pegs!  It was simple to detach its feet from the base.

5. Safari albatross.  I'm very happy with this figure!  It's much bigger than I expected, it's very good value for money!  I'm shocked such a good figure was retired so soon.  It's a great figure.

6. Mojo mallard.  This was the hardest to separate from its base, as the grass of the base goes in between its legs and connects with the underside of the duck.  But, I persevered and succeeded in getting rid of its base.  I'm pleased with this figure, it's the best mallard figure out there in my opinion, and it has strong competition!

I'm curious what these figures with removed bases look like @Sim. I would assume that any attempt to do so would just botch the final product.

I consider the figures with base removed successes.  ^-^  If I get round to sharing photos of my collection, these figures will be shown.

It is with great pleasure that I now have a black swan figure!  It's the Science & Nature version.  I've removed the base from it, now finally I have a black swan figure! ^-^

@NSD Bashe what an absolutely beautiful (and deadly) orb of a fish that is. Congrats on finding it!

I've acquired and removed the bases from:

1. Bullyland peacock.  I was surprised by how soft its plastic is!  But it's a great figure, the best peacock figure in my opinion.  I'm happy to have a figure of this iconic animal!

2. Papo pheasant.  As soon as I saw this figure in person I was filled with happiness!  It's such a wonderful figure!  Papo didn't need to make it as good as it is, but they did anyway!

3. Safari king vulture.  This figure is made from very hard plastic, so it was a challenge to remove the base from it.  I persevered though and succeeded.  This figure looks very realistic!  It's satisfying!

4. Papo mandarin duck.  I'm happy with this figure!

I've also acquired the Schleich adult greylag goose pair, but they don't look enough like the real animal for me, so I'm putting them for sale.

Sim

I also would like to add that I mostly like Mojo's geese, but they are modelled after domestic geese as can be seen from how the body extends past the legs.  I find domestic geese that are distorted so much unpleasant, so I will not be getting Mojo's geese.

Where's the finished product?

I can't take photos of my collection at the moment, if I do in the future they will include my customised figures of course.

Recently found a grail I've been searching for for a long time. Safari Smithsonian Insects Luna Moth.

In pretty great shape considering its age, and for a pretty reasonable price. Really thrilled to finally have this in my collection so wanted to share.
