I've acquired the Papo eagle-owl, which is impressive, and the Papo scarlet ibis, which is oh my gosh amazing!  Now I see why @bmathison1972 was so happy about the ibis figure, its detail in sculpt and paint is so good, I can't find words to describe it better!

JimoAi

been awhile since I post my last haul from a lack of desire to post but here's my small Xmas haul

I've been away from the forums for some time, but I'm back and these are some of my recent acquisitions;

Mojo woolly rhinoceros

Eofauna Straight-tusked elephant (Paleoloxodon antiquus)

Papo Irish elk (Megaloceros)

Bullyland unicorn

Science & Nature Thylacine

Schleich Moose

Collecta White-tailed deer

Collecta Black bear

Custom repainted Quagga (Mojo zebra)

great selections all around @Koifish

I also just received the Eofauna Columbian mammoth and American Mastodon after waiting a month for them, and I couldn't be happier. Have been wanting to add those species to my North American section for a long time.

Oh they are beautiful! Congratulations!

sbell

Hopefully the eofauna show up at MiniZoo soon.

Also have some recent arrivals from Japan!

The raccoon dog and Eikoh mongoose were via @brettnj . I had a friend visiting her mom in Japan, so the parcel was sent to her, and she brought it back for me!

Also, a small stuffy giant salamander from an Aquarium!

More today, courtesy of Temu...

Clearly these are knock offs, but surprisingly good. Material feels a bit more brittle, but the price was good.

Very nice on both accounts sbell! I love the raccoon dog of course. What species are the lizard/gecko and eel?

For the eel, I'm pretty sure it's meant to represent Gymnothorax fimbriatus, the fimbriated moray, although there's a few it could be. The black face is the most characteristic part.

The gecko looks like a young African fattail gecko Hemitheconyx caudinctus in an unbarred morph color (called patternless)

Thank you for the info!

I just received this trio of (I think) Nayab ivory-billed woodpeckers. I normally don't do multiples, but these guys came as a set, and I'd never seen this particular figure before, and had to have them. Fun fact, I thought the black bit at the front of the red crest was a lazy paint app, but it turns out the crest is indeed black along its forward edge on the real animal.

I also just received this Kaiyodo Bottle Cap Mini Figure Great Auk today; the other penguins in that series look superb, I would love to obtain the rest of them someday.

Congrats on the ivorybills! I only have cheaper made and painted bootlegs I think- not the real deal. Yours look very nice! (scroll down- I have a group pic towards the bottom of my webpage https://thecuriouscompendium.wixsite.com/curiouscompendium/avian-collection)

And congrats on the Auk as well!

sbell

The great auk is the secret figure in the penguin set, so you already did the hard part!

Hey @AnimalToyForum  I just realized that this is one of two 'Recent Acquisitions' threads on the forum! This one (in the 'Animals and Biology' board) and the much longer-running one in the Collections board.

We should probably have the two combined.

Maybe JimoAi intended this to be for his acquisitions specifically, but now others have contributed. I'll try to merge them, thanks Sean!

Thanks. Explains why I couldn't always find posts I thought I'd seen!
If anything else, the sub board (biology categories) wasn't intuitive!
