just got a bunch of spiders to complete the sets by Play Visions and K&M-International. Instead of putting the pics here, I will do reviews of the sets under the walkarounds sections.

EDIT: I also got these five flying beetles with the PV and K&M spiders. I had not imaged them right away as I had to wait for the wings to straighten out (they curved under the body as if they were sold in capsules). I was hesitant to buy them but now that I have them, the detail is really nice and they are as good or better in someways than the Sega flying beetles. They are simply marked 'CHINA' and I have no idea who made them. They come as single pieces. They are represented by the usual Japanese beetle species (minus Alomyrina dichotoma, interestingly enough): Dynasted hercules, Megasoma elephas, Dorcus hopei, Chalcosoma atlas, and Prosopocoilus inclinatus:

Charles Darwin (in 1837) by McDonald's UK, height 9 cm or 3.5 in.

Happy Meal articulated toy in 2012, part of a set of 8, based on the book and film "Pirates and Their Adventures with Scientists," set in the year 1837.  This toy was not released in the United States. Darwin was in the Galapagos Islands in 1835.

A switch on the back lowers the right arm to tip the hat. The left arm can be moved manually, and the body can rotate at the waist.

Comparison with the more realistic but older Darwin by Accoutrements. The Scheich guy is for scale.

To beetle or not to beetle.

This came last weekend... a Holy Grail for me. The Allomyrina dichotoma from the Sega Beetle King DX series. I had one for years but without the really detailed wings. I will do a walkaround in the proper section.\
To beetle or not to beetle.

Congrats, altogether! :)

Oh, wow, so there is another Charles Darwin figure then (already have the Accoutrements one, one of my favorite human scale figures)? 8) I'm unfamiliar with the title "Pirates and Their Adventures with Scientists" but could it be this has something to do with the Aardman movie "The Pirates! Band of Misfits"? The figure looks a lot like it!

stemturtle

Yes, brontodocus. Good call.
According to Wikipedia, The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists! was released in North America, Australia and New Zealand as The Pirates! Band of Misfits.

Ah, so it is indeed from that movie. I have it on DVD. :D

I now have the Yowies Pupfish! And it is a great figure!

And an extra gift--the fennec fox!!

Plus, this week has been extra fishy...

The Polypterus print from artist DW Miller (the file--I'll need to print it properly); a reed fish Erpetoichthys drawing from a friend on Facebook/Twitter; and the Yowies New Zealand Grayling thanks to help from Brett!

These are from Kaiyodo's Capsule Q Caterpillars Set 3 (2015). The one on the left is Cyrestis thyodamas; the one on the right is Daphnis nerii.

Congrats, Sean and Sauroid! 8) Ah, finally I've been shopping at Japanese sources again, I have quite a few things coming up, soon (some sets are already here). And I ordered the CapsuleQ Caterpillars 3 set, too! ^-^

Finally got around to the Favorite Kinto soft models. I've always loved the detail work on them despite their general proportions being, iffy, to say the least. This made them the perfect choice for something I'm going to be starting shortly.

These are all second hand finds. The JPS1 raptors are duplicates for me now and these are my second and third Tyrannosaurus hatch-lings (not sure if I want to keep them yet or not). JW Junior and Brawlasaurs are quite underwhelming, glad I didn't buy them new. JP/// Brachiosaurus and TLW Cyclops raptor are both quite satisfactory though.

Safari snapping Tyrannosaurus is rather silly, but for $1 I finally gave in. I like how the neck is held posture wise, but that's it's best feature. DOC Velociraptor (compared with my other one) one is a lot more orange in person than the other. Apatosaurus and Alligator are damaged but should be reparable, and this makes my second mini eagle ray.

The lovely Play Visions amphibians and some more misc Safari minis.

These vintage fish are really nice. Also picked up a painted Invicta Scelidosaurus. Found it by chance, and although I rather like it I think I'd prefer the unpainted version.

Schleich Pelican is amazing, first Schleich I've bought new in a good while. Easily their best dinosaur by a long shot if you ask me. Torosaurus is interesting, and the "Velociraptor" is quite genuinely terrible, but I have plans for it.

Would never have bought the Papo white tiger if it wasn't in a lot with other figures, but it's not half bad really.

Did I need another of these? No. Did I want one? Not really. But when the price is right...

I'd procrastinated getting the WWD Utahraptor for years, so I finally did.

I finally got the Colorata Salt Water fish box (back in August). I must say I'm extremely pleased, highly recommend it. I notice the bases are different from the photos on the ATF, I prefer the aesthetic of the older bases but I prefer the new "pairings".

Last and in this case least is the REBOR Compsognathus. It's a shame Kenner never made any decent sized figures of the JP Compsognathus because I would have bought that instead. The detail work is well done, but the quality control is sorely lacking. The jaw slides loose occasionally, the dragonfly's pole falls out of its base, and the dragonfly's wings are just laminate. Very disappointed, and I already had low expectations for my first REBOR product. Great service from Everything Dinosaur though, will order from them again.

Yes, the bases were the major change for the Colorata Saltwater box--the original has bases for multiple species. Unlike the Deep Sea box, I don't think they changed anything else about the box, no revised models or added species.

brontodocus

Oh, wow, awesome big hauls there, stargatedalek and sauroid! :) Ah, that casque-headed frog! 8)
Oh, and today I received a big parcel from Japan, too - it was my first order with buyee (and, yes, so far I can recommend them). A few sets arrived earlier this month but the majority was inside this one parcel which came today.

Oh, and one figure is missing in the photo - the CapsuleQ Museum Periplaneta fuliginosa nymph is at my office because I need it there on Monday.

Brontodocus, great loot. I spy the Takara set of snails and slugs. About 4 months ago I asked for species ID on the figure identification thread .
No reply so far. If you can come up with an idea, I would appreciate your help.
