bmathison1972

some new ones this week:

A) Science and Nature, Animals of Australia:
1) Lord Howe Island walkingstick, Dryococelus australis

B) Cadbury, Yowies (Australian releases):
1) trilobite, Kettneraspis clavatus
2) Cairn's birdwing butterfly, Ornithoptera priamus
3) Australian mantis shrimp, Odontadactylus brevirostris
4) blue swimmer crab, Portunus pelagicus

I already had the 'UK' versions of the birdwing and blue crab. I am excited to finally get this mantis shrimp, to compliment the Yujin Oratosquilla oratoria!

C) misc small toy insects. These were bought on eBay, sold as 'dollhouse accessories' (?). They are small, ceramic/porcelain or similar. You can see them here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Plastic-Bug-Insect-LOT-Butterflies-Frogs-Caterpillars-Snails-Praying-Mantis-More-/221278963416?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:3160. Please note the selection in the ebay image isn't exactly the same as what I received (honestly, my assortment looks better from what I can tell!!!!).

A couple are cartoony, but I did get useable lady beetle, stag beetle, rhino beetle, weevil, monarch butterfly, caterpillar, grasshopper, moth, honeybee, mantis. The snail is nice but I don't collect mollusks (yet lol). Their quality is akin to that of the UK versions of the Yowies :)

Oooo, they look good! Congratulations. An early Xmas gift to yourself?  :D
Hehe, yes, sort of... these may be the last figures I bought in 2013.

Where do you get these from? It seems to be taking far too long for the last of the 2013 Mojo line to show up in North America
I got them from a German shop, spielzeug-guenstig.de, the prehistoric figures are here, and I bought them right away as soon as they were in stock. Quite reasonable prices, too. :)

I have been waiting to bring those into the store all year >:( I've mentioned my unhappiness with Mr. Connolly about it, but there's not much I can do but wait.

Nice but I personally like the Besta system. I have a whole room of them. You can get narrower ones and the glass doors fit all of them.
Some day I'll be happy enough with my setup to get pictures on here. It's been a while since I had an update to the collection!

OkapiBoy

Happy New Year everyone, and great new addition! ;)
Here is the latest ungulate to join my herd!
Transcaspian Urial by Anna. Scale is 1:15, this one is #26 of the limited run of 150. Great figure to add to your collection, and congratulations Anna for another beautiful figure! :)
