I've recently acquired the Safari blue-and-yellow macaw and Safari red-and-green macaw.  They are so good!  I'm very happy with them. ^-^

I really like the sculpt on the Safari red-and-green macaw; unfortunately, it's missing the characteristic red facial stripes. As such, I went with Mojo.

EpicRaptorMan

Finally got the Papo Muscovy duck which took forever to get.

Firstly, idk why it took Papo so long to get this 2023 item released but I was holding out to order it (alongside others) from HappyHenToys. However, when some of the items in my cart were getting sold out I had to pull the trigger without the Muscovy — the very next day HHT got it in stock argh! Then, a few days later I was offered a free Amazon Prime trial, in which I ordered some things and I was kind of hoping the papo  Muscovy duck would become available before my trial ended....no dice...my trial ended and then two days later it became available!! Argh² At which point I just asked a friend who I knew had prime order the duck for me and I paid them back.

Probably the biggest hassle I ever had to endure from collecting animal figures (that weren't discontinued)

my final haul for the year:

Got the carnegie T rex as it was the right rex for my scaling needs and is well researched to despite being somewhat outdated though in my defence there's a heavy emphasis on 1/35 figures nowadays

The yujin octopus which is one of the best octopus figure. its tiny here because it's arms are curled up

Got a popmart Mr Krabs for my marine life display. He looks extra thick but I gotta remind myself that he's a crab so he's packing an extra tough set of exoskeleton. They don't call him armour abs Krabs

Lastly, I got the mini verse Betta and slider whilst trying to find a replacement Clownfish as eBay shipping is crazy to my location. I've forked out an ungoldy amount of money that I could've spent on a new cosplay, food, apparel or even better figures on a half an inch long Clownfish figure. Safe to say I'm giving mini-verse a big third finger from here

Thanks to the post by @Saarlooswolfhound I got the Papo 'standing' beaver. I am going to go along with the idea it's a North American, not only because of the posture but also the tail is broader as in the American (whther that was a coincidence or deliberate by Papo, I do not know). Replaces Safari!

Fembrogon

Safari Ltd. works FAST! This lot arrived yesterday, just three days after I placed the order.

A few of these were listed under the blowout sale, but I also had plenty of Berniebucks rewards to help out too. Safari really does make some nice sharks, and I'm delighted to own the new Incredible Creatures herps. The elephant is a more "mainstream" animal than I usually get, but it'll make a good display figure with other 1:30-1:40 scale replicas, for size comparison.

Fembrogon

Another little haul to start off the year, this time from Happy Hen Toys:

They've been sending me email adverts about their various sale items, so I finally took the bait. Most everything here was discounted to a small or large degree. (although the wall lizard is specifically your fault, @bmathison1972  :P )

Focus shot of the extants:

Mojo crocodile & perentie, Papo lizard, and Schleich great white shark.

bmathison1972

Happy to influence. I think we have all done that to one another enough LOL

Saarlooswolfhound

Wonderful new additions all Fembrogen! I am itching to get that koolasuchus.

JimoAi

damn I love the slap on the face that I recently got rid of my Schleich great white in favour of the Safari one die to the better material and the Safari being more realistic

Fembrogon

Haha, oh dear, I didn't mean any harm @JimoAi:)) I do agree the plastic type feels a bit odd on this figure. I probably would have chosen a Safari great white normally, but the portliness of the Schleich version appealed to me more. I continue to be amused by the rare cases I end up choosing Schleich over the other brands.

It's so cool, definitely recommend it.

I've acquired the Safari lorikeet, the Papo pigeon and the Safari green amazon parrot.  I love them all!

I don't normally post here because I usually only get a figure or two here or there but this time was different. This is one of the largest orders I've ever placed, thanks to Safari's Blowout Sale. It's sad to think that all these are now discontinued. Some of these, like the right whale, moon bear, tree kangaroo, and Citipati are figures I've been wanting for a long time but kept putting off. I'm glad I didn't miss out on them.

I gotta say too, a lot of these are much better than I expected. Safari's promo pictures don't do their products justice. There are a few here I only got because they were so cheap and I was not sure how much I would like them. Turns out, I love them all!

bmathison1972

Nice @Gwangi - I have all of those except the wombat (CollectA), babirusa (CollectA), and warthog (PNSO). I also don't have the reindeer, but with the taxonomic changes, it could become a new species if we can figure out what it was modeled after. If it's one by @doug watson I wonder if he modeled it after a certain population??? It is a nice model, for sure!

I was leaning towards CollectA too with regards to the wombat and babirusa but the price was too good, I couldn't say no. They're certainly sufficient representatives of their species. The wombat really took me by surprise because it was the one I was least excited about. I added it to the cart last in an attempt to reach $50. It's fantastic though, it even has an open pouch. You'll see when I review it.

I have CollectA's woodland caribou so I broke my one-figure-per-species rule with Safari's. But I really like the sculpt and I really like deer so I couldn't pass it up. I don't know what subspecies it is but I don't think it's a woodland, it looks distinct enough from CollectA's in any case. It has to be a North American subspecies since it is part of the NAW collection. I look forward to trying to identify it. Safari makes a reindeer that I like too so I might also end up with that one for a European representative.  :P

bmathison1972

Actually I had forgot the Safari wombat was specifically modeled after the southern hairy-nosed wombat, which is a different species than CollectA's (common wombat)! Still, for that species I have Southlands Replicas, so either way I don't need Safari's wombat (but it's nice; I can tell from your pic alone it's better than promotional pics)

EpicRaptorMan

I have all the extant animals too except for the moon bear which I am still conflicted on

Good to know that it's a different species than CollectA's, now I can get that one too.
