After Schleich and Safari Ltd. in 2022, Mojö Fun is also offering its version of the famous green anaconda, Eunectes murinus, new for 2023. Until now, my collection has lacked a serious representative of the species. Initially tempted by the Safari Ltd., I finally fell for the Mojö version. The green anaconda is one of South America’s most ferocious predators. It’s not the longest snake in the world, but it is the heaviest of them all. The largest known is said to measure 5.9m, but 3m for a male and 4.6m for a female are more mainstream sizes. The animal lives in the north of South America and east of the Andes. It always makes me smile to think that this snake is relatively common in France… in the department of Guiana! But let’s talk about the Mojö, what do I like about this model? Pretty much everything! First of all, the pose: Mojö avoids the static side of Safari Ltd while avoiding the unrealistic excess of CollectA and, to a lesser extent, Schleich. The figure is 16.2 cm long, 6.0 cm wide, and 3.0 cm tall. Measured along the body, it comes to approximately 41 cm.

The sensation of strength and weight is very prominent on this giant in motion. The treatment of the scales, however, leaves something to be desired, and we might have hoped for slightly smaller lozenges.

The paint is olive green and tends to be a little lighter on the underside. Black and yellow dots are scattered all over the body. The paint has a glossy appearance that really gives the impression that this snake is evolving in a moist environment, which is very appealing.

As for the head, it is well proportioned and its eyes are captivating. Nostrils and eyes point upwards as befits an aquatic predator. The only drawback is the absence of the characteristic orange-yellow stripes behind the eyes, although the “two rimmel marks” are present.

At 41 cm long, the scale can vary from 1:7.3 (for an adult male) to 1:11.2 (for an adult female). It can be 1:14.4 for a giant of 5.90 m.

Here is a 1:10 scale “family portrait” of a 4.10 m anaconda:

And at 1:12 scale for a large female measuring 4.92 m:

  • I would have happily replaced the CollectA green anaconda with this figure, but I had already bought the Safari model, which is my favorite of the three. Very nice figure from Mojo, however.
