I'm going to say it... it's not worth the asking price.
I only keep it because I have the whole set.

Yeah, sellers ask quite a lot for them and the mould was used for both a "dire" wolf and an "Alaskan" wolf. But many people think they are worth it because the listings aren't usually up for long!

Safari anglerfish, dragonfish and loosejaw, angler is missing the lure but the other two seem to be unbroken

so someone basically made a big squeak toy version of the CollectA anglerfish

https://www.ebay.com/itm/405710653896

kinda reminds me of how there were dollar store squeak toy versions of the AAA anglerfish back in the day

I was emotionally constipated about it but decided to get this lot. I would rather have an intact anglerfish but it seems unlikely that I'll find these three again for a price this low. Thanks for sharing it!

NSD Bashe

No problem   ^-^    every now and then the angler shows up for a reasonable price.  You could also repair the lure with Sculpey clay or a little plastic bit

Snertus has a few AAAs up for sale including this skink: https://www.ebay.com/itm/286284097200

What is that orange sculpin-looking fish with the blue fins? I bought a Chinese version of it a few years ago, but was there an original by Safari or somebody?

There isn't. Much like the sea robin, I think it's another Colorata -inspired recast in a larger size, probably the snapper.

There's a pretty wide assortment of companies in that lot.

I don't think the sea robin is based on the Colorata, I think it's a scaled up version of one of the Kaiyodo ones. I don't remember the line it was from but I have the Kaiyodo version and it looks very similar.

I think the sea robin is also the one BlueKrono was asking about?

I missed the sculpin reference.

My go to thought wad the Colorata since so many of those have an upscaled version.

Either way, never been made by Safari!

The origins of the sea robin aside, I added that lot to my watchlist.  ;D

Weirdly, I had images of the two in the post, but they're gone now...

Colorata

Kaiyodo

Either way, it's interesting how often the smaller figures get embiggened by the Chinese recasters. I've only bought a few, often to get bigger versions of ones I have

I won the lot! I was also the only one that bid on it, much to my surprise. Thanks for sharing it.  :D

I was curious who snagged it! I was keeping an eye on it but it wasn't anything I really couldn't live without. Can't wait to see it in your collection! Congrats!
