@bmathison1972 the body seems too short and thick for that pose. It should be much slender.

There's a new rainbow axolotl figure revealed on Instagram

I don't hate it, but I'd rather have a wild pattern one

That's why I bought two. I'm going to repaint one a beautiful dark green.
I like turtles.

I've seen the SafariLtd Axolotl in person as well as CollectA's and tbh ToyMany's version is by far the most attractive.

But, again, none of them are in wild colours.

I was referring, solely, to the size & sculpt. Anyone can paint any of them.

Not all of us can do it well though!

I appreciate the intention behind the admittedly off season pride axolotyl, but I too would have preferred a different morph. Not even a wild one necessarily, there are so many different options, any of them besides the typical white albino would be neat to see.

EpicRaptorMan

@stargatedalek they should've released it in June, but I feel that they're gonna do a few more resprays of there axolotl in the future.

triceratops83

I too was waiting for a naturally coloured repaint, so this kinda dashes my hopes. I'm using the current axolotl as the swamp monster in my King Kong diorama and the albino colours don't really work.

Saarlooswolfhound

Just announced a new porbeagle shark.

Gwangi

Interesting, I wonder if it is a repaint of the salmon shark? Maybe @Shane will know. Safari could get away with it, markings aside the two species are practically identical. Repaint or not, I'll get it, I love porbeagle sharks! One of my favorite species. Now we just need a longfin mako to complete the lamnidae family.

EpicRaptorMan

I just looked at my salmon shark and it definitely does look like a repaint.

It is a redeco, since the two species are very similar aside from coloration, but the figure's inscription has been updated to say Porbeagle Shark instead of Salmon Shark.

sbell

Well that's cool! One more shark species!

Sim

I'm eager to add this porbeagle to my collection, it looks great!  I intend to get the Safari salmon shark too, I had previously passed on it but now that this porbeagle exists I'm interested in having both!

That's what I thought. Well if there was ever a species that you could repaint as another it's those two. I had considered painting a salmon shark to look like a porbeagle but now I won't have to.

Sim

I'm in favour of a repaint to represent a new species.  I have the Safari red-and-green macaw and blue-and-yellow macaw and I'm very happy with both.  On this note I hope Safari will use their toucan figure to produce a repaint as the toco toucan.  I have the current version of the Safari toucan and I'm very happy with it, it's my favourite toucan species.  I would like a toco toucan too though and all the good ones available are on bases that if removed would make the figure look unnatural.

I found it surprising that Safari wasn't releasing a new shark figure this year, but now this porbeagle fills that gap!  I hope for a Greenland shark next time!

Personally I'd like them to go way outside the box, enough with lamnids and carcharhinids.

I want to see a bramble or angular rough shark! Something really out there.
