Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! The most striking dinosaur ever, the species that I learned about just and only in the "Wishes for CollectA 2020" thread in STS forum!!!!!!!!! has made by CollectA 2020!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's a tremendous casuality of CollectA readed that thread and got inspired???

Advicot

Who knows. I would like it if the major brands came on here to find out what were suggesting.  :)

Plenty of people on the DTF were suggesting it as well :)

Just been on STS and I'm extremely annoyed that CollectA's new Malayan tapir is the same mould as their Bairds. I've been very desperate to get a second Malayan tapir and all the other major brand ones are retired, now CollectA do one to make my dreams come true and then crush them straight after. Really annoyed  >:(

Oh! Totally agree, you put the words out of my mouth! I've been extremely absolutely desperate for many months for get the Safari LTD Malayan tapir or if not possible the Papo one (not the Schleich that is disappointing), as many members of the forum can prove, but they're totally impossible to find. And now, first I readed the Blaine's comment about "added a tapir", my heart ligthened in the tought that it could be my dreamed Malayan tapir, and I've got absolutely excited when I saw that is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But inmediately very disappointed that is the Baird's tapir repainted, a thing that I could do for free with my paints and my Baird's tapir. That's absolutely horrendous and very disappointing to see that this was made by my most admired brand, a brand that I've tought as the most noble of all until just now.

So I still will not fill this painful hole in my collection for my very dreamed Malayan tapir that I've been more desperate to get than Advicot and much before him :P :P :P

Advicot

Any more figures? I hope so otherwise CollectA 2020 has been really boring in my opinion. Also the black widow looks really generic and nothing special.

Advicot

Just found out there are more Wildlife but there isn't anything special. The list includes for wildlife:

Black Leopard
Sloth
Mountain Gorilla
Komodo Dragon
Puffin
Centipede

It's going to be a quite a depressing year for me. Unless the mountain gorilla, sloth and puffin look good. I'm hoping the puffin will be a new species.

No offense, but that's what black widows are supposed to look like (they only have the red part on their underside)

Haha, I was about to say the same thing. Looks like a pretty darn good widow to me, especially if meant to be the North American Latrodectus mactans. I'll have to study the eye arrangement when I get it (eye arrangement identifies spiders at the family level and is something most figures get wrong).

Funny now that I am building a synoptic collection, CollectA opened the floodgates for arthropods in 2020!!!!!

Only if considering that is the North American black widow, the most famous species. Many of the dozens of other species of black widows have red (or brown or white) marks in the upperside of abdomen, including the two natives of my country :D

True, but Advicot and I live in a country with no native black widow species, so, due to its (undeserved) notoriety worldwide, pretty much all we recognise is said North American species (and maybe a certain Australian species of the same genus, although not by the name 'black widow')  ^-^
