I also forgot to post, I received the Leonardo Collection Mute Swan today too:

Congrats, what a wonderful swan model with all those individually sculpted feathers! :) There are sources for Country Artists in other countries, too, but I think they are made in the UK and we won't find as many of them on e.g. ebay.de as on ebay.co.uk. I haven't any Country Artists model, yet, but they have some excellent ones, of course. 8)
Thanks! :) I think they deserve a mention here on the blog, despite not being toys, for their beauty and high production values.

They came flying from far away, now I'm under their spell....

Jetoar

Congrats for your two mute swan, very impressive  ^-^.

Walkaround coming soon... 8)

I was never really sure if I should get this one or not - the sculpt is brilliant and the figure is huge, larger than the Safari Ltd Wildlife Wonders Asian Elephant...

...but the armor isn't removable (at least not without cutting). :P I still don't know if I should try to customise it (i.e. get rid of all that armor stuff). The ears are a little large, too, but we don't really know the ear size of †Elephas maximus asurus, I guess? ;)

sbell

My daughter saved up to buy that elephant (now discontinued, along with the rest of the New Heroes line, by the way). I can't speak to accuracy, but it is a very cool, impressive figure. Especially at the head of her dragon+dinosaur armies (it helps to have access to a wide variety of cool creatures for play time!).
It appears that disarming it will potentially damage some of the underlying model though.

brontodocus

Yes, it will be impossible to remove the armour without damage, the plate on the forehead is glued on, the forehead is completely sculpted underneath but I'm not sure yet if the armour has a central peg that fits into a hole in the forehead or something like that. The shin plates are glued on, too, but it looks as if the skin texture is not continued under them. And the straps of the shin armour are sculpted on, as well as the bridle and the spikes on the tusks, so there would be much cutting and puttying to do (and probably replacing the tusks completely). :-\

sauroid

i just got this, still sealed.

Varanus

That looks like a cool book Sauroid! :)

Here are my latest acquisitions:  a different version of the AAA Calote and an Electricray and Emperor Penguin by an unknown company. ^-^

AnimalToyForum

The penguin looks good - nice interesting pose.  :)

sauroid

hi Varanus. that penguin is made by Nayab but marketed by other companies under Lian Huat Hang Ltd and Lontic brands.

Yes, I have that Penguin, too, mine was marketed by Lontic as part of their Antarctic sets of two figures. I believe it was packaged together with the Hourglass Dolphin. Ah, and there is the Torpedo Ray, too! :)

And a not so recent acquisition I wasn't aware of until yesterday - two months ago copper sent me the Kaiyodo Albino Bichir. Yesterday I was cleaning up and getting rid of boxes and packing material I don't need anymore - and I found something between the packing material... copper had sent me an additional Kaiyodo Animatales Series 10 Red-eared Slider as a gift: :o

Many thanks, again, copper! :D And sorry for being so, well... clumsy, lately. :-[

wow! good thing you found it and did not get thrown away. :o

brontodocus

And I can only learn from it - thoroughly look at the entire packing material of any parcel I get by a forum member I know. I am clinging to the hope I never threw something away before, actually... :-\ Of course, these Kaiyodo figures are so small and lightweight, when you put a box away you may not notice if an unexpected figure is still in it...

OkapiBoy

Great additions everyone! I have a few joining my collection...

Female Nyala antelope by Harriet, really beautiful figure.

AAA ducks

Colorata big cats

AAA Hyaena and porcupine

Schleich Hippo and calf

and Texas Longhorn - a really nice figure

African buffalo by Mojo

Jetoar

hi Varanus. that penguin is made by Nayab but marketed by other companies under Lian Huat Hang Ltd and Lontic brands.
Good to know! :)  The penguin and tropedo ray have the same labeling on the bottom and seem to be made out of the same type of plastic, so is it made by Nayab too?

It's very possible--Nayab makes lots of animals that get distributed by a variety of sources (much like AAA).
