Last week we looked at the Safari Ltd. queen triggerfish, so it makes sense to look at the companies’ other triggerfish that was released alongside it, the clown triggerfish (Balistoides conspicillum). Like its companion, the clown triggerfish was produced between 2008-2016. Unlike the queen triggerfish however, this species is more popular in the toy hobby, with a TOOB figure by Safari as well as figures from Play Visions, Yujin, Colorata, and K&M.

The blobfish (Psychrolutes microporos) is a most bizarre sea creature that features loose skin with no scales, gelatinous flesh, a frail skeleton, and no swim bladder. All these adaptations enable it to survive extremely high pressures in very deep waters around Australia and New Zealand.

Here we are, back with another salmonid from Replica Toy Fish–but, as promised, not a trout! Or a charr for that matter. Instead, we are looking at an actual salmon figure, the Chinook salmon or king salmon, Oncorhynchus tshawytscha, released in the same wave as the rest of the previous trout and charr figures.

A large lizard, with spikes along its back, that dwells in the Pacific Ocean. No, I’m not talking about Godzilla, I’m talking about the marine iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus), the world’s only marine lizard. It’s about as close to a real Godzilla as you can get. In fact, one of its many subspecies is named A.

The mahi-mahi (Coryphaena hippurus) is a highly sought after species of sportfish belonging to the Coryphaenidae family along with one other species. They’re prized recreationally and commercially for their size, beauty, and mild sweet flavor. They’re also abundant within their range and listed as least concern by the IUCN.

In Celtic mythology there exists a creature known as a selkie, a shapeshifting being that takes on the form of a seal when in the water but can transform into a human by removing its sealskin on land. Selkie stories often involve a romantic relationship between a human male and female selkie wherein the human hides her sealskin so she cannot return to the sea, forcing her into marriage but resulting in an unhappy life for the selkie.

The bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) is arguably the most iconic marine mammal. Known for their playful, friendly personalities and their amazing intelligence, they have appeared in many TV shows and movies, and are a popular attraction at aquariums and marine parks, so it is no surprise that there are quite a few toys based on them, and today’s review covers just one of these toys.

Despite having the common name ‘crab’, hermit crabs are not ‘true’ crabs, meaning they are not a part of the clade Brachyura. They belong to its sister group, Anomura, which also contains porcelain crabs, squat lobsters, mole crabs, and king crabs. Broadly speaking, hermit crabs encompass the superfamily Paguroidea which includes the king crabs.
