Hippopotamuses, or hippos (Hippopotamus amphibius), are very big and funny-looking animals that spend most of their time in water. Don’t let their cute appearance fool you! They are one of the deadliest animals that live in Africa and are very territorial, so it’s not the best idea to roam in their territory, so let’s look at small and safe hippos instead!
This 2018 adult hippopotamus toy made by Schleich looks really nice and is very high quality (tested, dropped on floor many times on accident…). It’s not the most accurate hippo that’s out there but it still looks really cute. It’s stylised, but looks really nice and looks very much like a hippo, even if it’s kind of thin.
The baby from 2020 is good and high quality, too. But i will say that the legs look too thick and the black on the tip of the nose looks strange from the front.
It’s still really cute and you can make a family with the adult, calf and the CollectA hippo because they all have the same color and CollectA’s baby hippo doesn’t really look like the adult, so this one is really nice as a calf for it.
