Here's all my chondrichthyes so far FB_IMG_1641724088633.jpg

Is that a customized Safari Thresher Shark next to the Schleich Sawfish?  It definitely looks like a Thresher....

Here's a list of non generic identifiable ray figures while I wait for more to be made.

Manta ray: Papo, CollectA, Schleich, Safari ltd, Colorata: all can be used as either M. alfredi or M. birostris except for Safari LTD which are both sculpted as M.birostris and the rare Colorata deluxe, which has the vestigial stinger of M. birostris.

Bat ray: Safari LTD venomous creatures toob. Can be used as a juvenile specimen

Common Stingray: Safari ltd incredible creatures. It is also worth noting that it can work as the Smooth stingray or the Pitted stingray due to the size of the figure

Blue spotted ribbontail ray: safari ltd incredible creatures. Note that it is too large to scale with most standard size figures and that it has only 4 Gill slits instead of 5

Marbled ray: Safari LTD l incredible creatures. Like the ribbontail ray, it is too large to scale with most standard size figures.

Bowmouth guitarfish: Safari ltd, collectA, Schleich. The safari ltd version represents a juvenile specimen.

Long headed eagle ray: Safari ltd Ocean toob 2016 repaint. Since the Spotted eagle ray and the Long headed eagle ray share very similar physical appearance except for size, I feel that it works except the Lingheaded eagle ray should be more gray.

Largetooth sawfish: schleich, collectA and Safari ltd MBA.

Xingu river ray: Kaiyodo

Leopard whipray: Colorata. This figure suffers from being way too small and having proportional issues(not being compressed enough), which is a shame considering it's the only figure of it's species

Ornate eagle ray: Safari ltd endangered species toob. Also suffers from being too small

Pitted stingray: Koro Koro. Too small and a very rare piece.

Spotted eagle ray: mojo, Safari ltd, Colorata and kaiyodo. The mojo fun is a disappointment IMO as its pectoral fins are way too thin, snout too pointy and lacking the signature duckbill appearance and it lacks a dorsal fin. Safari ltd figure is better though the snout could be longer, there are only 4 Gill slits sculpted, which are corrected to 5 in the toob figures and the gills could be smaller. Kaiyodo and Colorata could work as babies

Valez skate: 2 versions by Bandai NBGI

Tokionis Torpedo: Bandai NBGI. This figure has binocular vision and is really hard to find

There's also a Xingu river ray from a Hikari promotion from the early 2000s.
That whole set is very hard to get hold of.

I've recently bought these upscaled Colorata rays copies on AliExpress and I do intend to repaint them. The sculpts are accurate to their respective species tho the paint on the leopard whipray is totally off and the spotted eagle ray is off only in the face area. The only gripe abt the sculpt is for the spotted eagle ray. The Barb is Abit too thick but I do like the tiny dorsal fin which is unlike the mojo one which lacks it totally. The wing on the Colorata copy looks to be more accurate than Safari's. For IDs, I'm gonna repaint the leopard whip ray to the reticulte whipray (Himantura uarnak) and the spotted eagle ray looks to be aetobatus ocellatus tho the body should be. Atad bit greyish

I do like the enlargement of those mini figures esp if they're based on larger species

I used to own the sculpt of the brown eagle ray but in black. The wignspan is abt 18cm ish so it's too large for me

Wait how good is it other than the body and color being too much like S.lewini and 5he head being too smooth without the faint indentation. The smooth hammerheads are generally more slender and greyish from what little pictures we have. Asking as almost all hammerhead figures are not amazing nor appropriately sized compared to the Whale, Basking and Great white which all have definitive figures already.
