No, WePAM is an air drying paste, I acquired it together with Fimo Air precisely because then I could customize finished figures from brands, a think that I can't do with oven-backed paste such as SuperSculpey
Is it rubbery or?

Isidro

WePAM is like a glue stick.
FimoAir is soft and dry, similar to plasticine but much lighter.
SuperSculpey is like a bubble gum.

Recent Safari LTD acquisitions, original and customized.

Monterey Bay Aquarium big-eyed thresher shark. Original:

Customized: not only colour scheme upgraded but also shape of fins, and deletion of mould seams with a cutter. Also, strangely, original have 5 gill slits in right side but 6 in left side, so I closed the first one on the left side by adding paste over it.

And now a detail of the head. Original:

Customized:

I did not made teeth because they would so almost microscopic at this scale, hence too difficult to made

And now, the spotted eagle ray from same brand. Original:

Customized:

Original underside:

Upgraded: paintjob, the typical "duck bill" nose that was missing in the figure, much longer whip tail, corrected position and shape of the gills, added nostrils.

Hey @Isidro, may I ask why did you use to resculpt the nose and tail ad I would like to sculpt a dorsal fin for the mojo eagle ray
unnamed.png any suggestions if I want to add a dorsal fin to the eagle ray?

@JimoAi
Nice collection there. What are the yellow one and the round brown one in the top left?
I like turtles.

Those are Animal Kaiser figures. A Velez skate a torpedo ray.

sorry to resurrect this old thread but I just got the Safari Bull Shark and it's a nice sculpt but it's painted oddly.  It has a clearish blue streak of paint along each side of the body from gills to tail.  What's the reason for that?

Mine has a bit of a fade of the taupe to grey, but I wouldn't call it a blue streak. It's not uncommon for the paint jobs on Safari figures to get less...dedicated...after the initial release. It's been out for a while so if it was purchased recently there's probably less attention to the detail for it.

andrewsaurus

I see...thanks.  It is newly purchased.  Well i'm going to have to repaint that area somehow, it looks weird with these faint blue glossy streaks on its sides, totally unrealistic.   I like the sculpt though.

andrewsaurus

The sculpt on this figure is quite nice.  I didn't like the earlier Safari or Collecta figures because the pose on both of them was that of a Mako jumping and fighting on the end of a fishing line.  I like my animal figures to be free of human interference.  :)

The only real problem I have with this new Safari figure is the colour......I feel the upper blue should be much darker and the sides should be silvery.  Other than that (and the keel, which Safari seems to miss a lot on shark figures) it is a very attractive model and the best Shortfin Mako ever released.

I have mine on order with @brettnj

Your pictures make them look better; specifically, that they have tails!

Can you tell us the exact species? Do they say?

They are not mine I found them on twitter.
The ones I know are spotted eagle ray, cownose ray and red stingray. The dried guitar fish looks to be a shovelnose the last one is a baby skate of some sort

Got it.

That long one looks like some kind of longnose skate or something... hopefully it's that, and not a dried fish (the crazy long claspers would support that as well)

EDIT--okay, looking again, it's probably a guitar fish, but I don't think it's dried. So that's good!

It is confirmed to be a dried guitarfish on twitter according to translations
