If it's the mid-90s one, yes, quite rare. But they did re-release one later, so it's not a completely unusual figure for all but the collecting completists.

AAA Flying Squirrel: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AAA-52020S-Flying-Squirrel-Standing-Model-Toy-Animal-Figurine-Replica-NIP-/261441986524?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cdf281fdc

Never seen this before. Anyone know the species? Doesn't look like a North American species.

That's...a less than stellar looking figure? Likely a red squirrel model with a patagium added after. I can't recall seeing images of one that looks like that--the head seems too foxy.

brontodocus

I was thinking if this was possibly meant to represent a giant flying squirrel, Petaurista petaurista, since it's so skinny looking and has a very slender tail. The head looks a bit off, though.

Japanese giant salamander (Kaiyodo - Kyoto Aquarium special figure)

Ebay listing for under $50.00. I recommend this seller.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kaiyodo-Kyoto-Aquarium-Limited-Japanese-Giant-Salamander-Pre-Painted-Model-Kit-/281342504834?

The figure is resin.  The base is polystone.

A must-have! The price is okay. If I didn't have it already I would get it now.
Unfortunately using the 'See other items' button doesn't work for me :( .... no results.
I've been having this problem with some other sellers too throughout the last months and I don't know why ???.

The "see other items" button works for me.
This seller, sylvian113, does not list other animals besides the salamander right now.
Postsaurischian, you are not missing out. Wish I could help you with the computer issue.

Nice mixed lot of animal figures.

Also, "Ultra Rare VINTAGE c. 1960's" invertebrates.

Ive seen those insects, and I almost got it for the winged earwig alone, but held off getting it...for now.

It says they are 'ultra rare', though I'm not sure how true that really is!
