My daughter just had me buy her a toy cheetah and cub and it had me wondering if ToyMany was going to make a cheetah family.

Saarlooswolfhound

Quite a nice cheetah set- though I hope maybe we can get some color variations in the future? If nothing else then they're great for repaints of such! (King, few spot/spotless, erythristic/red...).

I have to say I'm a bit dissapointed with ToyMany lately.
They were showing a lot of interesting stuff in production during 2024, but there's been no news for ages. Instead, they are releasing other uni-species sets they have not talked about and now even leaning towards horses as any other brand.

Personal preferences, I know, but still I can feel dissapointment.

I too am waiting for some of the amazing ones already announced, but I can't blame them for wanting a piece of the horse collector market. By any metric, those far exceed the sales of any other animal group by a huge margin (despite what dinosaur collectors believe).
Somewhere I found numbers that horse model specialist Breyer has annual sales higher than all of our well known brands combined.

But yeah, still won't buy any horses myself. Bring on the crazy primates that were teased already!

Kenc confirmed over on STS that this is a wildcat figure, not  domestic one.

Sim

I'm a bit disappointed by Toymany's recent releases too.  Lots of mammals, lots of cats, nothing that I find appealing.

Yeah, okey, they only have to release it  :*D

They showed us parrots, lemurs, primates, but no news on those, only sets of cats that were not even announced.

Just my thoughts on the criticism- I understand everyone's disappointment and hope that X set comes out soon (primates, parrots, madagascar, etc.). But lets remember that 1) the sets that have been released are mostly repaints of sculpts they already have in production and that these are species that may be boring to some but are quintessential for sales and success. None of these companies would be successful if they only released cryptic species or one theme of animals like exclusively reptiles.

2) keep in mind that the figures still to be produced were not only in VERY early production (first announcements were of clay sculpts started- not completed and not each set had been outlined on what would be released yet either). And also, many of these animals have delicate parts (like long tails or feather tips) and from what I could see, very dynamic postures. This means making moulds and making sure the items follow safety guidlines would be much more difficult than just a static posture figure with little to no frills.

Kenc is only the messenger, he wanted to share this exciting news with us and he was under no obligation to share in the first place. By being *so* vocal and passive aggressive with comments will only make it clear that announcements shouldn't be made so early or even at all if all they get is criticism in return when normal production delays occur.

Try to be patient and understanding, and I am sure the sets will come with time. And lets not forget either that Toymany is a very young and small brand, and even companies like Schleich or Papo announce figures that never get released and are instead mysteriously cancelled.

Also, over on STS Ken shared this update with us " Still in production, but from what I can tell, the Madagascar set is a little more advanced than the Monkey set, and has already been sent to the relevant organizations for testing. Maybe we'll see the Madagascar set first. "

So again, just be patient! These things take time.

Having gone over to take a look at STS, I can see why @Kenc is more responsive... you're right @Saarlooswolfhound sometimes we get a little negative, when we're just being shown what's coming.

Figures take like, 2 years to produce start to finish after all! They'll come eventually (still really excited that Madagascar is so far along!)

There isn't a lot of negativity here (or STS for that matter) but there is impatience. I think that is what was bugging Paige (and me too frankly at times). Whenever a new set is released, invariably the first comment or two is 'still waiting or the XX set'. or 'I want an XX set' instead of really appreciating what is offered. Not every figure or every set is going to appeal to everyone, but a lot of people seem to act like companies' releases should revolve around their personal interests.

Speaking of the Madagascan set, they were shooting for the first half of 2025. We are just barely through the first half of the first half ;)

You're right, 'negative' wasn't the right word, just the first to come to mind

Kenc

Thanks to Paige for her speech; she really hit the nail on the head.

I understand everyone's excitement and a bit of impatience about the new Toymany releases. The information I share comes directly from the factory, so when they told me, 'Hey Kenc, we can launch in a few months,' I couldn't wait to share it with you all, even though there were unexpected delays later, and I made sure to let you know right away. I know everyone's more excited about new species or new poses for the animals, but our customer base isn't just collectors—there are parents, children, and educators, so we have to consider a wider range of ideas. Over the past 2 of years, Toymany has listened to a lot of feedback from collectors, and we ask for just a little more time from everyone :)  :)

Toymany just "revealed" their new Madagascar set on Facebook with a "can you guess" video.

It's definitely the Madagascar set!

The official species list will go live May 12.

stargatedalek

So many non-mammals! I admit the idea of a Madagascar set didn't have me excited, as I assumed it would be almost all lemurs with perhaps a few other mammals, but this is very exciting after all!
Trans rights are human rights.

sbell

A tenrec! That's possibly the most unique model of all!

Plus a few unique lemur species for sure! Other than the PV set that I don't expect to ever find
