Quote from: bmathison1972 on December 04, 2022, 12:17:05 AMthe whole set? Congrats Gwangi! What's funny is I used to see these at the AZ Natural Histoy Museum in Mesa when I lived in Arizona (2005 I think). Who knew they would have become so saught after.

I didn't get them all in one shot. I got the razorback off eBay and two others from the Marsh website this past spring. I got the remaining 3 that I needed today, I was waiting for the Marsh website to get the loach-minnow back in stock...and they did! I think they have them all in stock at the moment.

If only they'd release them in about 2-3 inches :)

I don't mind them being this size but the pupfish is alarmingly large. I wasn't expecting that. They're all the same length but the pupfish has that deep body. I would think that the Colorado pikeminnow would fit into your collection.

Quote from: Gwangi on December 03, 2022, 10:35:49 PMTotally stoked to cross this set off the list. This set has been a holy grail for me since I got into this hobby.

Quoting Gwangi's pic since he took nice pics of all six species. Anyway, my complete set just arrived! Despite being a bit big, I got them because:
1. They are Safari
2. They are classic and potentially rare figures
3. The species are unlikely to be made by other western companies
4. they are endangered species from my home state
5. the money goes to a good cause!
6. Gwangi made me do it (haha just kidding)

The only reason I might part with them is if Safari released them at half the size (unlikely)

Gwangi

Haha, happy to have had a hand in inspiring you to get the set. Glad to see that they safely arrived as well.

i love 1:1 scale figers a s well as 1:40th and foot scale witch me and my friend use because its both small but u can also get very small modals like ants in one foot scale and they are still big so you can play with them 1 foot 30 cm = 1 m me and my friend plan on making our own modals in this scale

All great ideas. I'm hoping for a 1/1 cane toad, even though I already have a real cane toad.

I got these last week

Eofauna: Deinotherium, Steppe Mammoth, Palaeoloxodon

Safari: Mastodon, Megatherium, Mola mola

The Carnegie mammoth on the far right is the one I've had since I was a kid.

bmathison1972

Nice, Joe! I recently snagged the Carnegie mammoth. When I started my non-arthropod collection, I got the CollectA version, as the only Carnegie available at the time on eBay was $80+. However, I recently found it for less than half that cost so I snagged it. CollectA is not bad, however.

The Carnegie mammoth is my all time favorite mammoth figure, and one of my favorites from Carnegie. The new Mojo one isn't bad either though. And the Megatherium and Mastodon are among my favorite Safari figures. Love all the Safari prehistoric mammals. Well done, sir!
