I've noticed that too with the old TOOBs for the humpback whale and the gray whale. I've also seen it with the beluga.

do you mean they use 'baby' figures from the MBA collection as adults in TOOBs? That would be neat, and can work, as long as the proportions are in line with an adult.

I know for the humpback whale from the old toob, it's roughly based on the sculpt for the MBA calf. The gray whale, however, is literally just a downsized version of the adult. The Safari Baby sea life toob uses a sculpt based on the beluga calf.

Looks good. It's clearly one of the older paint jobs. Any of the discontinued calves is a nice find.

I wouldn't know, I only own the older one.
