Mongolian Stallion (Horse Country by CollectA)

5 (8 votes)

As always, I must thank Happy Hen Toys for their sample offer for this review! The Mongolian horse derives its name from its country of origin and it enjoys a long and successful history in the region. This fame at one time stretched all the way from Japan to Western Europe as it aligned with the conquest of the famed Genghis Khan.

Konik Mare (Horse Country by CollectA)

I would like to kindly thank Happy Hen Toys for providing this wonderful sample model for review! The Polish Konik horse is a breed with very murky origins and lots of myths surrounding it. The animals certainly descend from very sturdy, stocky, and hardy animals from Central Europe and they may have hybridized with various domestic equines over the years.

Friesian Stallion (Horse Club by Schleich)

A huge thank you to Happy Hen Toys and their incredible generosity to provide a sample of this horse model to me! Schleich released a new Friesian stallion as part of their 2024 Horse Club range with the item #13975. It was released alongside a foal and I hope to see a new mare join them in years to come.

American Cream Draft Stallion (Horse Country by CollectA)

5 (5 votes)

I have to thank Happy Hen Toys for sending me this gorgeous specimen to review! CollectA released this unique model of an American Cream Draft stallion back in 2019 with the item #88846. As a standalone figure it is gorgeous and completely unique (even 6ish years later at the time of this writing), but it is nicely sculpted and would present a wonderful new model for any collector of equids.

Fjord Mare (Horse Club by Schleich)

Hello again! Here we will have the review for the mare counterpart to the fjord horse pairing. If you would like to read more about the breed itself, I included a history and variety of facts for them in the Schleich’s gelding article here. The figure being discussed below is the mare figure by Schleich produced in 2024, #13980.

Howdy folks! I have another horse review, huge thanks to Happy Hen Toys and their enormous generosity to provide a sample of this pair of horses. A rather rare breed in toy form, these two were welcome to my herd and are quite an improvement over the previous generation.

Gypsy Mare (Horse Country by CollectA)

In keeping with a tradition that I started two years ago I’m reviewing an Irish animal for St. Patrick’s Day. Only this time I decided not to review a wild animal but a domestic one instead. In finding a subject to review I researched what livestock breeds come from the Emerald Isle and although I was able to find some, very few of them had figurines to their name.

Clydesdale Stallion (Horse Country by CollectA)

5 (4 votes)

The Clydesdale is a breed of draft horse that originated in the valley of the river Clyde, in the county of Lanarkshire in Scotland. They are the result of breeding imported Flemish stallions with small native draft mares during the 18th century. Later, in the 19th century, Shire horses were also used in the breeding program.

Chincoteague Pony (Horse Country by CollectA)

5 (5 votes)

I live on Maryland’s eastern shore, part of the Delmarva Peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay. As such, one of my favorite stomping grounds is Assateague Island, a 37-mile-long barrier island that stretches along the coasts of Maryland and Virginia. Assateague Island is most well known for its herds of feral horses (Equus ferus caballus) known as Assateague horses or Chincoteague ponies.
