You never know how someone is going to affect your day-to-day life. A month ago, someone I knew down my road passed away. He was never a major part of my life, but he was always there, happy to chat about everything and nothing, always accompanied by a black Labrador (Canis lupus familiaris). His passing was felt by most our street, and I still look at the house expecting to see him. In his honour, I will be reviewing models of his favourite animals, curtesy of Noah’s Pals. This one’s for you, Derek.
Starting with David, the male, and this once again proves the variety of this line, as the pose is different to any in the Dalmatian set. Here, we see a classic play bow, showing that this is one playful pup! The detail on this figure is great, with a great fur detailing and pads on it’s paws. I also love the head sculpt, with really vibrant eyes. He measures 1.7″ long and 1.6″ high, so, while fitting the 1:24 scale, he is pretty small.
Next up is Denise, and we have yet another interesting pose. Those versed in dog body language will see that this shows Denise is a little stressed out. Maybe she is drained by David’s play. Or it could be that she has a bad paw, it’s up to you. Once again, the detailing is great, especially the eyes and head sculpt. She measures 2″ long and 1″ high, though her three foot stance can make her a struggle to stand on non flat surfaces.
This is a cute and well detailed set, one of the best of the set I’ve seen thus far. It’s certainly the best of the two dog sets produced by Noah’s Pals, and do recommend picking this set up out of the two. Do wish one of the sets had been dropped for a wild species though, but we got this, so there you are. The dogs are among the easier sets to find on eBay, so go for it if it interests you.

I am not much of a ‘dog person’ but if I had to pick a favorite breed, it would be a lab! In fact, the token domestic dog in my Synoptic Collection is Mojo’s yellow lab!
