Alligator Gar, juvenile (3″ figure by Replica Toy Fish)

4.9 (9 votes)

Back with the very last August 2015 releases from Replica Toy Fish, the second of two figures that use the same model, this time the juvenile alligator gar, Atractosteus spathula, seen originally as a six inch figure. Last time I focused on the adult figure, now we can take a more pictorial look at the juvenile version.

Here we are, working toward the last August 2015 releases from Replica Toy Fish, which is technically a pair of figures that use the same model but different colours. And more specifically, three inch figures that represent a species already seen as a six inch figure. That’s right, more figures of the the alligator gar, Atractosteus spathula.

Alligator Gar (6 Inch Series by Replica Toy Fish)

Back with another Replica Toy Fish figure, another from the original (and only) six-inch figure collection. I won’t lie, of the 6 this was one of the two I was most excited for. At the time I think it was the only model of the species…or maybe even the whole family (the collection is a bit of a blur sometimes).

Back with the next 3″ fish from Replica Toy Fish, and based on my purchase records, this is the last one in the April 2015 releases. This is also one of the few models that got a 6″ and 3″ versions later in the series, this is the small version of the longnose gar Lepisosteus osseus.

Back with another figure from the Replica Fish Toys 6″ line, this time the longnose gar Lepisosteus osseus. Not as well known as its relative the alligator gar (and certainly not as common in figure form) this is nevertheless another distinctive, prehistoric fish from the waters of eastern North America, from southern Quebec to the Rio Grande drainage in Mexico and Texas.

Everglades TOOB (Safari Ltd.)

4.9 (7 votes)

The Everglades is a subtropical and tropical wetland spanning 7,800 square miles (20,000 km2) in central and south Florida in the United States. Water from the Kissimmee River south of Orlando feeds into Lake Okeechobee and then continues south into Florida Bay. Although mostly marsh and flooded grassland the Everglades also run through cypress swamps, hardwood hammocks, pinelands, coastal prairies, and mangrove forests.

Alligator Gar (Mini Ancient Fish Series 1 by Bandai)

5 (6 votes)

Back with another Bandai ‘Mini Ancient Fish’ model, but this time from series 1. As it is, it’s the only figure I have from this particular set, but it went without saying that I would add another alligator gar Atractosteus spatula to the collection! Like the more recent Series 2 (of which I have the whole set and have already discussed) the hallmarks of the series were there in the first series.

Alligator Gar (World Fishing Monster Fish by Takara Tomy A.R.T.S.)

4.8 (5 votes)

This will be a discussion of the fourth and last figure from this Takara Tomy set featuring some unique fish species that are visually or culturally striking. Based on my best attempt to translate the papers it appears to be called World Fishing Monster Fish, but take that with a grain of salt.
