I guess it’s been too long since a fish review…or maybe I just realized it would be good to start reviewing the long-lost series of figures from Replica Toy Fish (RTF). For those not aware, this was a company that existed from around 2010 to 2017 or so. In that time, several wonderful fish models were made, focused almost exclusively on freshwater North American species, primarily ones familiar to anglers (that was the originally conceived target market…don’t get me started).

Amur Catfish (Freshwater Fishes Book 2, second release by Yujin)
European Animals TOOB (Safari Ltd.)
Europe is a continent consisting of the westernmost peninsulas of Eurasia. It is said to be separated from Asia by a variety of natural features including the Ural and Caucasus Mountains, Ural River, and the Caspian and Black seas, among others. Truthfully though, the boarders between Europe and Asia, geological or manmade, are arbitrary.
River Monster Collection (Toy Fish Factory)
Thalassophobia is defined as the fear of deep and vast bodies of water, and the unseen creatures that lurk in them. Even if you don’t suffer from this phobia, I dare any person to look out upon the surface of any large body of water and not wonder about what strange and potentially dangerous creatures lurk unseen under its surface.
Cave Dwellers TOOB (Safari Ltd.)
For my next review I thought I would do an overview of the Cave Dwellers TOOB released by Safari Ltd. in 2014. When this set was first released, I was excited because five of the eight figures are arthropods. Unfortunately I have misplaced four of those five, so I recently bought the entire set, which is good because now that I am building a synoptic collection I really wanted the three non-arthropods.
