And since you have two of them, are they both the same or is one more brown and the other one more tan/grey? :)

I have to figure out how to post images here... but in the meantime, the one I got last year is exactly the same as the one you have here. The one just came a few weeks ago with an inventory re-stock (I own a shop that carries some animal figures).  It is a very pale gray/tan, like the one on the Safari website.

Thanks for the info, sphyrna18! It's good to know that there is apparently some variation (or change) in the paint job of the figure. :) A comparison shot with both versions in the same photo would be great. 8) If you want to post pictures you would need an image host, here's an instruction how photos can be posted.

Hehe, thanks, Jetoar! :) Yes, it's really golden, I was surprised when I received it that it actually has a metallic paint. ;D

This is a review of Safari's Shark Ray (Rhina ancylostoma).  Technically called a Bowmouth Guitarfish, this replica is about 13 cm long, which puts it at near 1:20 scale.  The coloration is accurate, although the deep blue of the body is more like that of juveniles than adults which are brownish-gray.

Now I understand the neam of Bowmouth Guitarfish  ^-^. I wanted to se this figure, Thanks friend for sharing  ^-^.

To get one in adult colours, there are several from Japan--I can think of at least a Kaiyodo Aquatales and a Colorata one.

A very nice figure! :) Not only the blueish colour but also the colour pattern looks like that of a juvenile. Just like the WS Zebra Shark which has a juvenile colouration, too. My Bowmouth Guitarfish is less blue and apparently a little darker, too. This is one of the WS Sealife figures with a very delicate paint application which can flake off easily (mine had paint rubs already in its original bag!), other examples are the Basking Shark and the current version of the Leopard Shark, although I don't know if the problem still occurs in newly produced figures.

Thanks for the responses everyone! :)

Between this one and the Zebra Shark, looks like Safari needs to do a little more research on the color schemes of their animals. :))

To be honest, it is likely driven more by the more striking (and so more marketable) colour pattern.

Walk-around of the Mojö Fun Sea Life Great White shark, Carcharodon carcharias (Linnaeus, 1758). Total length (TL) is 179 mm, so the scale (not regarding if it's a female or male) would be approx. 1:24 - 1:33 (or possibly up to 1:44?). The human figure from the Safari Ltd. Coral Reef Toob is approx. 1:32 scale.
The colouration is very naturalistic and the head shape is especially good. However the figure has some flaws - there are only four gill slits (at least there is a trace of a fifth one), no lateral keel on the tail's peduncle, and the claspers are separate from the pelvic fins, ignoring that they are actually part of the pelvic fins.

I'm glad you like it nonetheless, Jetoar! :) What I also like about the figure is that it's one of the very few figures of a Great White Shark with its mouth almost closed, in a neutral and more or less graceful pose.

Yes, I think the same, It has a peaceful mouth and dinamic swing. I think that the new figure of Schleich will be very similar of this

... and finally the Torpedo Ray!  This last one is really the reason to hunt down the set, it`s just so unique (unless there are others out there. Anyone?).
I've actually just learned of two others!

One so-so figure is a part of the "Octonauts" cartoon toy line.

The other I found on ebay, I've have no clue who makes it.

I'll post more pics of it when it arrives at my place. 8)
