Who would have thought a hammerhead shark replica could look cute? ;D This is a walk-around of the Incredible Creatures Baby Hammerhead Shark, Sphyrna cf. mokarran (Rüppell, 1837). Length is 180 mm, so the scale approx. 1:3 - 1:4 for a newborn pup. Although the anteriomendian notch at the front of the cephalofoil is missing, the shape of the latter suggests that the figure was sculpted after S. mokarran instead of S. zygaena. Link to the figure at Safari Ltd. is here: http://safariltd.shptron.com/p/incredible-creatures%C2%AE-baby-hammerhead-shark

Walk-around of the Safari Ltd. Wild Safari Sealife Bull Shark, Carcharhinus leucas (Müller & Henle, 1839). Length is 155 mm, scale approx. 1:12 - 1:22.5. Human figure (Minimen Andreas Köpke) is 1:20 scale. Here's the figure at Safari Ltd.: http://safariltd.shptron.com/p/wild-safari%C2%AE-sea-life-bull-shark

This is a review of the Safari, Monterey Bay Aquarium line, Blue Shark (Prionace glauca).  It is about 18 cm long, about 1:20 scale.  Like all the others from this line it is retired(not really, see Brontodocus's comment below), but it is still fairly easy to find on ebay, amazon, and even some aquarium gift shops.

Very nice walk-around, Varanus! I still think it's the best Blue Shark figure by any major company. :)

Oh, it's still in production and available via Safari! :) There were initially 25 figures (if we count the Sea Otters as two separate figures) and 14 of them are still in the 2013 catalogue.

Cool review friend. This shark is my first figure of MBA Collection. My father bougth me this figure when I was a child in a Sea Life aquarium store in Spain  ^-^.

I dont undertand why safari have painted this figure with brown color. I think that this shark is grey  ???

I got a recent shipment of these (I already owned this figure for my personal collection) and the coloration was much closer to the official pictures on Safari's site / FB page. Closer to tan/gray.  Just FYI

Wow, I thought they'd all been discontinued.  Nice to see some are still around. :)

This is a review of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Collection's Tiger Shark (Galeocerdo cuvier), produced by Safari.  It is 21 cm in length, about 1:20 scale.  It is one of the best, if not the best, Tiger Shark figures on the market.

Definitely a great Tiger Shark figure, and my favourite representative of the species! :) The characteristic truncate snout is often enough ignored in toys but this one has it.

brontodocus

And since you have two of them, are they both the same or is one more brown and the other one more tan/grey? :)

Varanus

Thank you both!

Your figure is of hard plastic or soft plastic?
Mine is soft plastic, much more flexible than some others from this collection.

brontodocus

Mine is quite flexible, too. But years ago, when the MBA collection was distributed by Schleich in Germany, I've seen this figure in a toy store and it felt quite rigid. I have two versions of the big Humpback Whale, one of them is very hard while the other one is softer. There is a considerable variation in softness among the MBA figures, in my collection the softest is the Giant Squid.
