I've updated the default tags and categories system on the Monster Toy Blog, and color-coded them on the front end. There are now three taxonomies:

Name(s), Brand, and Classification.

Name is the very specific name, and can be input manually by the reviewer

Brand is the Company, line, series, and so on. Only I input these for consistency so please let me know here if anything needs added as new reviews are posted.

Classification is a broader name, group, or genre. This might have to get split up in time. And you thought animal taxonomy was a nightmare! I think we just need to be pragmatic here for now, it's just a way for visitors to filter reviews based on their interest. Only I input these for consistency so please let me know here if anything needs added as new reviews are posted.

I have the Funko Mothman tagged under "Fallout", the video game it comes from, can that be a brand category instead? Don't know how many Fallout creatures will get reviewed but if Star Wars is a category then Fallout should be too.

Done! I had actually created the Brand category for it already, but missed it when I was reallocating tags. :)

Hey @AnimalToyForum could I get the company WizKids added. And maybe Dungeons and Dragons, since they're related but other figures may not be.

Honestly not sure how this hierarchy works since WizKids is apparently owned by NECA but you wouldn't think of them...and Wizards of the Coast, who produces most Dungeons and Dragons stuff, is owned by Hasbro...

Such a whirlwind of corporate delight here...

(but at minimum WizKids is needed!)

Will do!

I've added those brands now.

I think I'm up to date again with the categories now.
