But that can also apply to most of the asian releases of highly stilized animals, or with awkward poses or behaviors

When I add New Releases to the Misc. Japanese/Chinese section, I tend to avoid things that are anthropomorphized. I will do stylized, if they still have the basic 'look' of the animal, but all the ones, even Kaiyodo, with them bowing, peeing, fighting, wearing clothes, or in the form of inanimate objects, I don't post.

They do. There are a number horse figure brands/series with their very own forums/blogs. Breyer is the biggest of them, but there are at least a dozen more I can think of. Horse collectors have a whole world of their own online!
