AnimalToyForum

With the impending launch of the Monster Toy Blog (https://monstertoyblog.com) you may have seen the discussion on the DinoToyForum whether there should also be a Monster Toy Forum, or if monsters could become a more established part of the existing DinoToyForum or AnimalToyForum.

I think the AnimalToyForum might be the best place to set up a board or two specifically for monster toys, as it could increase visitors and activity here, not just for monsters but for animals too.

What do ATF regulars think about this idea?

I am worried it would distract from the main function of the ATF. I could see a 'Cryptids' thread under Animal Toy Groups for cryptids, but I fear if people start posting Godzilla, Star Wars, etc. creatures here it is going to spiral out of control quickly. Certainly there are multiple forums for such subjects already out there.

If it spirals out of control quickly then there's a strong case to set up a separate Monster Toy Forum. For example, if there are more monster posts than animal posts. The same would apply on the DTF.

On the other hand, if there are well established forums for monster toys already (what are they?), I wouldn't expect a huge influx of monster visitors or activity anyway. So, it would be a way to keep a small amount of discussion in one place.

I don't want to establish a dead forum, but I do want an internal place for our own monster toy discussion.

Then I would suggest a thread under Animal Toy Groups, or maybe a single, separate board, where people can create as many threads as they want. And of course things could be posted under threads like 'Recent Acquisitions' etc.

It could be called 'Cryptids and Fictional Animals' so it still has the 'animal' connection.

A separate board. This could work.

I think the separate board would be a good solution. Keeps it contained. I know fora exist, but I don't know what they are. If it boosts traffic a bit, that's not a bad thing
