Columbian mammoth

That's a nice one, but I am sticking with Safari's. Thanks for starting the thread!

Likewise!

sbell

That's a nice figure. I'll probably get it eventually.

Major improvement over the earliest one I have, the big one from Imperial (and the Safari of course)

SerAndrew

I don't like the Safari so I don't own it + and I'm a "Eofan" -> Instant buy haha

Arctinus

Looks very nice! Was contemplating on getting the Safari one a while back, but am now definitely getting this one. :)

I remember wanting that Imperial toy long before Safari's was announced. I wanted a mastodon and it was the only one, now we have a new mastodon and I can't muster much excitement for it because I have Safari's.

EDIT: I've changed my mind about the mastodon. I'll just have to break my one-per-genus rule and have both. I'm from NY where mastodons are important fossil animals. I have to have it.

Yeah, I've had it since long before the Safari. Good enough for what it was at the time

Saarlooswolfhound

Oh it is gorgeous, another must have to join the herd for me.

EpicRaptorMan

Ironically I don't collect prehistorics, but I agree with SerAndrew. While the SafariLtd's Mastodon isn't bad this one stomps it.

Stomps it? No, it doesn't. You may like this one more aesthetically but Safari's is very very well done. It really comes down to personal aesthetics.

This one is also far more accurate and anatomically correct

How many items do they normally release every year? I know its far fewer than most companies.

Arctinus

Either one or two figures, but most often it's just one.

It'd be nice if they could always release at least two, a dinosaur and a non-dinosaur (would probably be a proboscidean, but hopefully they'd expand beyond that).  :)

Thanks for the information Arctinus.

New teaser has been shared. Guesses over on DTF are a stegosaur or anlylosaur type animal.

Probably a far off hope but if it is a stegosaurus I would buy a rendition of Apex. I would enjoy if they continue'd modeling after specific individual examples/fossils. But that's just me.

Arctinus

Based on a new reveal, I think it might be an ankylosaur type, maybe even ankylosaurus. The rotation would make sense, I guess, with a theropod, a sauropod, a ceratopsian, a theropod, a sauropod and now an ankylosaur (a theropod-sauropod-ornithiscian roation).

Whatever it is, I'm buying it, since I've decided to limit my dinosaur collection to Eofauna (due to money and space limits).  :D

When I started with dinosaurs I limited myself to Safari figures sculpted by Doug Watson...it lasted for less than a year lol...

SerAndrew

When I started collecting dinos I was supposed to limit myself to the most accurate 1/30-1/40 figures, representing the big groups.
Then I started making some exceptions and then I accepted that I'll get ALL Eofaunas (spanish brand and I love the figures).
So far so good, I've not broken the rule so much... But if this is an ankylo I will probably break it, because I already have the PNSO.

Btw, an exception on the opposite direction is the Eofauna T-Rex, that I won't be gettig. Because I don't like the pattern of the skin and I already have the sitting PNSO, which brings more diversity to my collection: the pose is original and I allows me to have a lipless vs lipped (Eofauna giganotosaurus) sauropod

I feel you, haha. When I started collecting, I said to myself that it's just a few whale figurines, which turned into zebras, hippos, cheetahs etc. when I saw the other ones on the shelf. Then I limited myself to Schleich, but soon discovered the other brands online and, well, here we are.  ;D

But I'm kind of stubborn with my dinosaur limit. And with all the dinos PNSO alone keeps on producing, I'd be long broke and my partner would throw me out, haha.

I'm much more lenient with megafauna/non-dino extinct animals, though.  :)

I've broken that one-figure per animal limit with extant animals quite a few times myself.  ::)
