Schleich - New for 2024

An image of the 2024 hyacinth macaw, sea turtle, and female bonobo is circulating on social media. They look okay, I guess. Safari's macaws are way better, though.

Another image of the macaque and the armadillo is also circulating. They both look good. Never dawned on me until now how few armadillo figures are out there!

Also in regards to the sea turtle...their older green sea turtle (different species) definitely blows this one out of the water.

I was worried the hawksbill might be nice and I'd have to buy it. My wallet is thankful that this generic chelonian is so forgettable.

I still find it acceptable... Much more than the jap macaque for example (no offense). It's definitely not a chimp, which is good and the general appearance is not monstruous.

I'm actually interested in all the wildlife, except the American black bear. I already have the Collecta one and I don't see the need to replace it. I also have the Bullyland fire salamander, which is also great, so I'll see what the Schleich one looks like.

And now that I think about it, I also have Schleich's older ibex that was part of the set with the moufflon and mountain goat, if I recall correctly. I wonder if they've improved it.

All in all, I'll have to wait to see the figures in person when they'll be available in shops.

Edit: Now that I've seen the photos of the macaw and the turtle, I'll definitely pass. Not sure about the bonobo and the macaque. The armadillo looks decent, though. At least I'll be saving some money for other companies' figures.

Thanks. I am adding the ibex to my 2024 wish list, too. I think the macaque is fine but not sure if I need to replace my Kaiyodo figure with it. Still on the fence there. It's nice to have a 'solid piece' representative from a Western company

They all look good. I'll have to wait and m see about the black bear. I got the old black bear a couple years back and not sure if I am going to replace.

The macaque still is acceptable for me, but the eyes are a bit goofy.

The ibex looks good too, but I'll probably be hanging on to the old Schleich one

I will get definitely the bonobo. The black bear probably too, as until now none black bear from any brand convinced me fully, but this one seems to be THE bear, the chosen one. The macaque is acceptable although I would prefair the Kaiyodo one that I tried to get several times without sucess.

Which one do you have? I have the one below and the new one seems a bit of an improvement, I think, so I'll definitely check it out in person.

I always wanted that box set ibex. I am glad I never got it; I think the new one actually looks better

Surprisingly, it looks better in person, but still kind of weird. I don't know, it looks kind of chunky. Am also not quite fond of the mouflon or the mountain goat either.

Honestly, I think this year's is a completely different path from the previous ones. I'm impressed.

Not a bad lineup. Figures that I might get...

Fire Salamander- PNSO's looks better so I may opt for that one instead.
Japanese Macaque- Unless there's a better alternative by a western brand that I'm not aware of.
African Buffalo- Maybe, I know there are other options, this one looks decent though.
Ibex- Definite purchase.
Armadillo- Definite purchase.
Bonobo- Definite purchase.
Hawksbill turtle- not very impressed, we'll see.
Jersey Cow- CollectA's is better so I probably won't get this one.
Bajadasaurus- CollectA's is better so I probably won't get this one.
