My latest list has been updated with Yowies!
Always looking for new species...

bmathison1972

me too! Been updating it, but added the Takara tardigrade!

bmathison1972

All CollectA 2023 checked off! Except for the mini king crab, which I'll only get if there is an opportunity to get it by itself. I would like it, but it's not high priority

bmathison1972

Added three Haolonggood dinosaurs to my wish list  ::)

- CollectA Goblin shark (new Order)
- CollectA Amazon river dolphin (new Family)
- CollectA Llama (rejected because of size)
- CollectA koolasuchus (new Order)
- Papo muscovy duck
- Mojo anaconda
- Mojo aardvark (replacement?)
- Bandai bamboo shark (new family)
- Bandai viper dogfish (new family)
- Safari Ltd Type D Orca

MAYBE:

- Papo moth
- Schleich gazelle (repainted as Gazella gazella)
- Papo Okarito kiwi (will keep the CollectA as North island kiwi or it will be replaced)
- Papo flying squirrel
- Papo bumblebee (replacement as Apidae representative; maybe swap wings?)
- Papo golden beetle
- CollectA australian angelshark (new Order, but it's huge)
- CollectA right whale (replacement for Safari? I like both a lot...)
- Papo sea eagle (my repainted Safari model becomes now A. laticeps given the pattern and shorter fins)
- Papo dove (I have the Kaiyodo pair, but just to have the complete Papo birds collection)
- Papo condor (have the bigger Schleich and Im not fully convinced by the small beak and white pattern of this one)

EpicRaptorMan

Still waiting to get the Papo Pigeon and Muscovy duck. And that's it for me in 2023.

bmathison1972

I added the Safari emerald tree boa as a 'MAYBE'. A comparison shot with the anaconda will help make my final decision

With me and my fascination with numbers and stats, and with us getting closer to the end of 2023, I am looking at my first post to see what all I purchased (or plan on purchasing still) as far as diversity and new taxa. Here is the breakdown:

New species: 59
New breeds of domestic species: 9
Duplicate of arthropod taxa: 21
Figures that replace ones I already had: 7

I am surprised there were so many duplicate arthropods, since I narrowed my criteria for collecting Japanese figures.

EpicRaptorMan

Still waiting on the Papo Muscovy Duck and pigeon. Added the PNSO Chameleon to my future Safari Ltd order too.

Also need to snag the SafariLtd Silky Shark and Grey Parrot whenever those come around.

I see. Thanks!

Can I ask for comparison pics of the lemming and ray? Let's say, with any other western brand rodent and ray (or the Kaiyodo freshwater one, I assume you have it)

Sure but not sure when. The lemming is very small; smaller than most of my Kaiyodo gashapon rodents. Certainly smaller than most western rodents. The ray is probably comparable to the Kaiyodo ray; I can't remember off-hand.

So, I updated these numbers based on things missed the first time (e.g. Toymany) and a couple newer announcements. Haolonggood might announce more before the end of the year, and who knows what might come out of Japan in the remaining weeks.

As of now, my new for 2023 purchases (or expected for those not released yet), include:

New species: 66
Replacements for taxa I already had: 8
New breeds of domestic animals: 9
Additional arthropod taxa I already had: 18

I have one last figure to get and it's the favourite Co Icthyosaurus
