I'll update Papo when we have a better idea what all the species/breeds will be. For me, it can be anywhere from 5 to 11 lol

endogenylove

Updated with papo guesses :) I will update again when more information is out
Always looking for new species...

OK, OK I updated for Papo too. Too many uncertainties depending on species and breeds. Right now, there are five 'YES" and eight 'MAYBE'

I suspect in the end, I will be getting 10, give or take. The last couple years, I have gotten more Papo than any other non-Japanese company

Here's my list so far.

Schleich:

YES
Abyssinian cat
Indian rhino baby

MAYBE
– Harpy eagle (not sure yet, doesn't look bad, but looks a bit too simplistic for my taste)
– Thomson's gazelle (not sure yet, but it doesn't look bad/cartoonish, I think)

Collecta:

YES
Amazon River Dolphin
– Honeypot Ant
Right Whale
Angel Shark

MAYBE
Goblin Shark
– Pangolin (not sure, I already have the Schleich and Mojo pangolins, but might get this one, since Pangolins are such special creatures)
– Koolasuchus (as much as I'd like, I don't collect all prehistoric fauna, mostly just megafauna and Eofauna dinos, but this one looks really interesting)

Papo

YES
Condor
Flying squirrel
Bumblebee
Death's head moth
European rose chafer
Common spider
Common lizard
Pigeon
Seahorse
Eagle ray
– Nautilus

MAYBE
– Right Whale (depends on accuracy, but I'll probably go with Collecta)
– Octopus (depends on species and accuracy)
– Panda (already have a panda, but might get this one as well)
Malayan Tapir
– Platypus (already have and like Collecta's, but might get this cutie as well)
Anteater
– Kiwi (have the Collecta, but might get this one as well if it looks good)
– Raccoon (deciding between this one and Safari's)

SafariLtd.

YES:
Silky shark
Type D orca
Great grey owl

MAYBE:
Puma (if its better than Papo's)
Arctic fox (I already have Schleich's and Papo's, but this one also looks nice)
African grey parrot

Updated my first post with three more CollectA

@Arctinus - those are both great ideas for the raccoon, but the Safari one is bigger (I went with Papo myself)

I've compared the sizes and the Papo one seems to be closer to the size of the Schleich one. But I might still get the Safari raccoon, since I'm not that picky about size (unless it's a huge difference to make the figure really stand out too much).

maybe their older one; Schleich's last raccoon is HUGE (and cartoony)

SerAndrew

Ok, I know the usual Schleich hate and bla bla, and Im not a defensor of their last years' strategy.
But, Papo raccoon is, again, WAY bigger than any raccoon Schleich has ever done.
Taller, longer and, overall, fatter.
And, actually, despite the last Schleich is horrendous, I would say the cartoonish one is the Papo, for the contrasted colours and even the previous Schleichs for the smiles.

IMHO we don't have a fully satisfactory figure for such a common animal. Maybe CollectA one day...

Yeah, I have the newer Schleich raccoon (bought it some time ago in a physical store when I started collecting), and it's a bit too cartoony and underfed, I'd say.  :P

It's this one:

I found the Papo and Safari comparison here:

Still can't decide, but the Safari one doesn't seem that larger (to me, as I'm not that scale conscious).
