They don't appear to represent any actual fish species, just generic fish bodies with attractive colors, like many actual fishing lures.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone here collect fishing lures? I collect different types of lizards, and occasionally frogs or toads if they're particularly interesting.
I like turtles.

Gwangi

I don't collect them but fishing is one of my hobbies so I have a lot of them, including some antique ones. There are some lures that could nicely represent a particular species in a collection.

I have a standing invite from someone in Japan to take me around to the shops and natural history stuff of as much of Japan as possible... someday

Birding is probably all I could realistically do. The cost of getting to Japan wouldn't allow me to go toy shopping.  ::)

That and the facilities would be my entire reason to go!

Beam goldfish:

Ild like to point out that they are rereleased as I got that exact same ranchu goldfish in 2016

Advicot

I'm currently in goldfish collecting fever and may look into getting some of these  :)
Don't I take long uploading photos!
