Oh my, and I so hoped for the vulture and anteater.... ah well, we got good figures of those, so Ill spent the money for something more interesting.

I'll probably get the vulture, giant feet are a bit off-putting but I find that less distracting than an ill-fitting base. It leans on its tail anyway, why does it need the giant feet?

If I was starting my Synoptic Collection today, I could see myself getting the warthog, proboscis monkey, and maybe the manatee.

A new anteater is nice, but the Safari and Papo ones that are retired are so much better; I'd probably try to hunt one of those down (I found the Safari one on eBay a while back).

The vulture is not bad, but I have the Papo one which this new Schleich one isn't better than enough to replace.

Unless I decide to replace my warthog figure (I find myself struggling to find one that I really like at a good size), I doubt I will be getting any of these. For the most part though, it is a nice offering!

Most look good and better than I expected, but the Bengal cat is just    who actually thought this figure would appeal, it's truly creepy and goofy. No child wants to play with this 'thing' or a collector to put it on their shelves.

I will be putting the following on my wishlist:
Manatee (it's going as a central African one)
Proboscis monkey
Warthog
Giant anteater
Platypus
Vulture
Penguin
Badger
Jack Russel
And these I'll have to see reviewed or in person: fennec fox, poodle and llama

Boy, the Bengal cat looks really goofy, like it's from a cartoon. What a disappointment.

And I'm disappointed with the wildlife figures as well. The platypus looks kind of ok, I guess, but I already have one. Maybe I'll get the proboscis monkey. Maybe. I don't have a manatee yet, but I'll probably get Collecta's. I already have the Mojo vulture, but will probably get the Papo one as well. All in all, the ones I don't have yet are the manatee, warthog, proboscis monkey and badger, but I'll get them from other brands (except maybe the proboscis monkey, as I've already said).

Is it just me or has Schleich really gone downhill and fallen into the abyss of cartoonishness?

I don't think rushing is the issue. Most companies produce their figures at roughly the same time, even if they are released in waves (and Safari tends to release all of theirs within a short while).

Schleich is interesting, because there are often winners and some that are just like 'what?!?' (e.g., the Bengal cat). It could be differences in the styles of the sculptors, or they have different people approving different figures. But the wide range of quality within a given year can be striking!

Very lame how many of these look like cartoon characters again. The only one I would consider adding to my boys' animal collection is the anteater.

Shame on Schleich , now they are crawling instead walk. They seem in the las 2 o 3 years no interested in collector groups. 
No one of this worth. I am no  going to buy these new figures to avoid encourage them to continue making them like that

Nothing special for me here... 
Schleich isn't releasing new species, and these animals have already been released by other companies.
Don't like how Schleich is managing its Wild Life releases these days.

Theres 2 new species I think and its a adorable fennec fox and a probobscis monkey but they release ok and good figures they are not messing up like their dinosurs line.

I got the proboscis monkey quite recently, and it's a very nice figure
