One note about the version of this clownfish still in production - while I agree that it is vastly surpassed by the newer clownfish figure, the version that is still available has a much nicer paint job. It was refreshed around 2017, and while it still has some sculptural shortcomings, the new paint really does improve its standing. Though I agree it's probably time to put it to bed.

I considered that I might be judging that toy too harshly but a review is a review and I think I'm just too used to reviewing figures I actually like. As I said, Safari was making better products than this in the 90's. On the plus side, I gave the clownfish to my toddler after writing about it and she loves it. And it's one of the few Safari toys that I feel safe giving her at her current age.

I don't deny that the figure is definitely inferior especially compared to its update, but the paint refresh does make it a little bit better.

Ok ok. The non-aquatic figure still hasn't come in yet but today I got something I want to review that is aquatic. So my next review will be aquatic lol.
Still I should be able to have the non-aquatic review ready before Shark Week  :))

I created a brand category for JXK Studio. In fact, I went through and created brand categories for all esoteric brands that had been under 'Uncategorized'. Now, no figure reviews are under Uncategorized (only a couple of announcements).

I've had the figure since January and figured I would get to it whenever but then just last week I checked when Moo Deng's birthday was and saw that it was on the 10th. I knew what I had to do.

I almost reviewed a chicken for Easter. Can't remember why I didn't. Still plan on reviewing it...eventually.
