Great review. One note - the other Safari Queen Triggerfish was not from a TOOB, but from the "Flippers, Fins and Fun" box set.

It contained a coral formation, a snorkeling kid, a sea turtle, and most interestingly, a queen triggerfish, goliath grouper, and a bottlenose dolphin sculpt that is one of the more accurate for the time.

Thank you for the correction, I'll edit the review. I knew that thanks to Toy Animal Wiki but somewhere during the writing process clearly forgot it.

I actually have that set...or had? I've still got at least a few pieces from it.
Missed the reference in the review though...

That set is a holy grail for me, at least the queen triggerfish (because of its size).
I've seen the set on ebay in Europe but haven't pulled the trigger (ha!) because of the cost!

You broke the fish streak but have kept the aquatic animal streak going, that's 7 aquatic animals in a row. It would be 10 if not for a couple of horses tossed in there.

Yes, too bad they weren't 'sea' horses LOL. Of course, depending on what you and Sean and the next review are, we could still get to 10 aquatics in a row... 8)

I was thinking the same thing! It's crazy!

It will be 8 aquatic animals in a row if no one posts before I do on Wednesday.

My next review will also be aquatic, but suspsy's review, which will be up before mine, will break any aquatics streak we have going.

It was bound to happen eventually. With the review I'm posting tomorrow it will be 13, that's a good run. And I have a lot of terrestrial animals in the queue anyway. Including the ToyMany cheetah set which arrived on Monday.

One note about the version of this clownfish still in production - while I agree that it is vastly surpassed by the newer clownfish figure, the version that is still available has a much nicer paint job. It was refreshed around 2017, and while it still has some sculptural shortcomings, the new paint really does improve its standing. Though I agree it's probably time to put it to bed.
