Well the translucent Mudpuppy came in last weekend and I was actually positively suprised by the sculpting and detail.
So here I am going to post pictures of the painting process.

First I washed the figurine with ´St. Marc´ a degreaser. Then I softly sanded the figurine. After that I whiped it with a tack cloth to remove even the finest residue from the sanding.

After that I applied a thin layer of white ´Vallejo´ model paint primer. This has to harden for 12 hours. Then I applied a thin layer of Beige-sand coloured primer also from the Vallejo brand.
I painted the primer with a brush, so some marks of the brush were visible.

After the second layer of primer completely hardened. I Sprayed the model with the base colour Edding Permanent Spray 921 creme white mat (acryllic).
So after quite some preparation. The painting can almost begin  :D  Some working/sanding and a second thin spray of Edding needed.

Till than the figurine looks like a clay model.

In addition to the Safari Mudpuppy I am repainting i am doin a repaint on the  Plethodon yonahalossee. I cannot find a picture on the internet showing the ventral side.
I can quess, but maybe someone over here can help me out with this.

On the Mudpuppy.
I was not satisfied with the primer layers. They got to thick in the end. So one of the ordered mudpuppies is for testing effects now.

The second one and the Safari Plethodon yonahalossee I washed with dishwashing liquid. Than sanded some residue of the molding process.
I did not sand the whole figurine this time.

I than used some very thin layers of Edding universal primer. It looks like this is a good one for the soft bendable pvc.
So the above mentioned process could be done nicer and faster  ^-^

More soon!
