I'll start with some of my smaller collections. Some of the larger ones like the snapping turtles, sharks and deep-sea denizens are quite extensive and will take some time to set up and photograph. Also, if you're interested here is a link to my prehistoric collections on the Dinosaur Toy Forum:

Osprey collection

Ospreys are my favorite bird. They remind me of my grandfather, who also loved them. Does anyone know if there are any other extant models of them other than this Schleich and Choco Egg one?

Ibis collection

The Japanese one's rough paint job left him with a beak that looks like he just got done starring as the villain in a horror flick.

Neotenic salamander collection

I have numerous other mudpuppy-inspired fishing lures not pictured here (up at the cabin in the tackle box). I also consider Toothless from How to Train your Dragon to be mudpuppy-ish because of his head ornamentation. My Toothless collection is so extensive and some of the pieces so large that it probably wouldn't even fit on my table. Don't know if anyone here would be that interested anyway.

Horned frog collection

Includes two hefty porcelain lawn ornaments. Still does not include the Safari plastic version that inspired it all. If anyone has it and would be willing to part with it, I would pay good money for it. 

Basilisk collection

The biped is a variant of the Lizard, one of Spider-Man's choice villains. I've also got every comic this variant has ever appeared in.

Draco lizard collection

May include prehistoric species like Kuehneosaurus. Shh, don't tell... The big ones were a dollar bin find at an enormous flea market in Tennessee. Made the whole trip worth it.

Horned viper collection

Most are same sculpt, some stretchy, some solid. I also have 4 or 5 different versions of Bitis nasicornis in plushie form. Some are actually fairly accurate. I could wrangle them up if anyone would like to see them.

Ratite collection

NO OSTRICHES. No. Get out of here with your ostriches. As many emus as I could find, including a beautiful resin piece from Germany, back center. Not too many cassowaries have been made. Has anyone ever made a rhea? Also includes emu-ish birds like the extinct moas and elephant birds. My personal favorite is the Yowies emuary. As you can see, the lefthand side contains some Diatrymas, or "terror birds". When it comes to flightless bipedal birds I don't discriminate. Except ostriches. No ostriches.

Penguin collection

Kind of a random hodge-podge of toys here, but I generally try to orient my penguin collection toward the genus Pygoscelis (aka "brush-tailed penguins").

Leopard seal collection

What defines a leopard seal for the purposes of my collection? Spotting and darker upper, lighter under. Wait, do you smell something Primeval?

Small bat collection

Everything from cheap Halloween decorations to obscure species by Yowies from the opposite end of the planet.

This guy's my favorite. Grumpy Bat is gonna be the hot meme of 2017.

Really cool. I'd be interested in seeing your How to Train your Dragon collection, all I have is the Skrill right now. Another reason I think there should be a Mythical/Fictional Animal Toy Forum. We have one for extinct animals, one for living animals...

It's "soft", but firmer than a lot of Incredible Creatures figures (perhaps just because it's solid).

Yes, the mudpuppy is semi-flexible but not squishy. It's like the plastic that every other Safari figure is made of.

A very nice and interesting collection!! I have a few questions. Could you please share closer pics of the Ratites in the middle behind the Yowies? And what brand is the green /yellow fling lizard? And what brand is the bat in the left corner down (in front of the Yowie) and the bat wiht the base?

That's a great collection and there are quite some rare figures there (Schleich Osprey! )!

Are those two frogs left of the Colorata one 3d puzzles? Also, one of them looks like it's either C. aurita or C. cornuta! Oh, and those big ones, I guess these are the lawn ornaments, look actually great, too!

I can't recall if they're 4-D Famemaster or some other brand. One of them's missing his two front legs, but I'm sure I'd find them in one of these bins around here if I really put in the effort.

And this one I'm not sure. It has pretty good detail for a cheap plastic toy, including some interesting crenulations around the face. Did Play Visions make a bat series?

How would one know? Do you know what kind of markings the PVs had underneath?

Play Visions are marked with a PV in a circle, somewhere on the body (alongside, but not always near, the animal name and reference number)

Some, like their dinosaurs, do not have the markings as they were from a different company, and just reused by PV (rather than making their own--and the lack of quality is telling).
