Next in Takara's Dangerous Creatures collection. Need to see if the wasp is a new species, or just a rehash of the old sculpt

I know I should want the piranhas...but I don't.

New releases from Takara:

First, some deep sea critters:

Next, some resting doggies:

A set of misc. animals. I think several of these (if not all) are re-releases.

I am tempted by the armadillo if I can figure out a size and species. Thoughts?

It's definitely a part of the Chlamyphoridae family, and my first guess would be a six-banded armadillo, but it could also be a dwarf armadillo or, I suppose, any of the hairy armadillo species.
Always looking for new species...

From what I can deduce of the image, a six-banded armadillo (Euphractus sexcinctus) is probably the best match.

Chlamyphoridae doens't exist. All armadillos belong to family Dasypodidae.

Not to start an argument in this thread, but there's evidence to suggest that armadillos are split into two familes, Chlamyphoridae and Dasypodidae. I subscribe to updated taxonomy changes as they come, although I know many people dislike the changes.

@GojiraGuy1954 - check with @brettnj - he has a contact in Japan who can get these and send them to you in the UK.

Otherwise, try eBay dealers in Japan that may or may not ship to the UK (I'm in the US so I don't know)

FlaffyRaptors

I noticed that Takara is released a new(?) Bluefin Tuna last year, how does it stack up to the current ones on the market? e.g. Colorata, Eikoh, Favorite Co. etc

And has anyone noticed that there are two different versions of the Colorata Bluefin? One with silver fins, and the other with yellow translucent ones.

bmathison1972

Not sure; I didn't get it because I have the Colorta one. However, if Takara it is probably pretty nice.

The bottom one is the first version released in 2004 ish and the top is the 2015 revised one. The takara tomy tuna works as a smaller individual to the Colorata one or as a 1:40 scale individual
