FigureFrenzy 294 Megalosaurus, Amargasaurus, Moeritherium, Woolly Rhino

It's all prehistoric megafauna today! From the Jurassic to the Pleistocene. As far as the figures, well...one if them is really nice. One of them is very okay. Two of them are very basic but ones that are probably pretty easy to get! Wild Republic/Imperial/random 'Megalosaurus' Lots of versions of the same figure...probably based on Megalosaurus toys and paintings from some time ago. Using height, probably around 1:92, so the explorer is close in scale. Our first figure is actually…

Vault Tales 260 FigureFrenzy Stegosaurus+Allosaurus, Goldfish, Sea turtles, Salamander, Gar

Bunch of random figures yet again! Overall, pretty great figures. Including a cool gar from a company I haven't visited for a while. There's even going to be a few paired figures! Takara DinoExpo 2012 Dino Kingdom Stegosaurus+Allosaurus A classic pair of dino antagonists! Stegosaurus and Allosaurus on fancy bases! They are both around 1:83 scale First up, we have a pair of dinosaurs that were released as part of a set with a Japanese Dinosaur Expo in 2012. The…

Vault Tales 227 FigureFrenzy Cheetah, Iguanodon, Milkfish, Sifaka, Sturgeon

Well, today is about as random as they're going to get. All over the place in terms of species, quality, brand, materials...Kind of like my actual collection, it can be kind of all over the place! Schleich Bayala Arelan Cheetah I personally think this is one of the most interesting Cheetah figures made, by Schleich, and among many other cheetah figures. The posture is such a unique one. About 1:18 scale, so close to the misguided zookeeper there. Our first…

Vault Tales 216 Run the Set Wild Republic Bouncy Ball Sharks

So weird set today--and proof that amazing figures and sets can come from very, very dumb places. I am sure that most people are familiar with Wild Republic--their merch is ubiquitous in shops at zoos, aquariums, museums and science centres...and has also infiltrated regular toy shops and 'impulse' toy sections in other stores. These days, they are probably most notable for their wide range of plush animals in different forms ("Wild Republic" used to refer specifically to a line of…

Vault tales #28 K&M International Red Salamander

Who makes it? The company is called Wild Republic now, but back in the day, the good figures were K&M International. That's what this salamander is branded as, part of their 'medium' size rubber salamander set. Item number 20757 The stamp on the belly, giving away the age of this particular mold. There were so many in the late 90s, most of which are likely lost. Which is unfortunate, because they used to have a great range of animal figures.…

Vault tales 16 Wild Republic Sockeye Salmon

Who makes it? Wild Republic as part of their Canadian Wildlife tube, number unknown. It's a salmon! Whoo! When did it come out? From what I could find, 2007 Still available? And from the same research, the set is discontinued so...nope. Sorry. This is a bit of a shame for reasons I'll get into below! It' hard to scale this figure. It would be a little small for the guy, but close Where can it be found in my displays?…
