Vault tales 48-Group Profile-Arizona Silver Dinosaurs

What is this? Some figures that get picked are not really much to talk about...so I'll speak to them as a group. In this case, it's a group of pewter prehistoric animals from a company called Arizona Silver. I don't know a tonne about them, but I do have a story behind them. The whole lot of them. As far as I know. I first became aware of the models when I was managing the dino museum (which I know…

Vault tales 47 Obscurus Mystriosuchus

Who makes it? Brandon DeMoss sculpted it as part of his Obscurus line. Not only have I had his figures available in store, he also sculpts the fish for my FaunaFiguresFishes line! When did it come out? I can't recall exactly--possibly around 2010? I had them in my store in 2014 or so. Here is Mystriosuchus, rising up in the water! Still available? Vault tales 46 Nayab Postosuchus

Who makes it? Nayab (or Lontic...it's one of those companies...). It was part of a pair of dino-themed box sets with a...variety...of dinos. Some better than others, none great. When did it come out? I purchased it in about 2010. Possibly around that time, probably sooner than that. This is a very thick take on Postosuchus. But for a low end set, to include an animal like this, that's something! Still available? As with many of these..no idea. Probably. The…

Vault Tales 45 Shapeways 3D Paddlefish

Who makes it? Printed on the Shapeways site. I don't know where the file was made When did it come out? I've had it a few years, but I don't know how long. It's a creator test print--which is cheaper but rougher. Hence the thick texture on this side Still available? Depends if the file is still out there. Where can it be found in my displays? With so many other odd and interesting fish figures. That describes about 15…

Vault tales 42 Kaiyodo Dinotales Series 2 Smilodon Skull

Who makes it? Kaiyodo Dinotales, Series 2. Number 48 (the series were numbered continuously--this skull would have been the 24th in the second series) When did it come out? Pretty close to 2000 One challenge of Dinotales skulls? Display. They don't have bases or platforms. Many are flat bottomed but some, like ceratopsian frills or the Smilodon skull, do not lend themselves to resting nice and straight up. Here, a Colorata base (from their sturgeon) and acrylic peg does the…

Vault tales 41 Dinosaur Train Adocus

Who makes it? The company Learning Curve, as part of the series of figures with the Dinosaur Train PBS series. His name is apparently Adam. When did it come out? Originally came out in 2010 Adam the Adocus. He's a very happy turtle. Still available? I honestly can't tell. The distribution was always a bit difficult to pin down. Probably not though. Where can it be found in my displays? On the shelves filled with colourful oddball figures. One of…

Who makes it? This figure is from the glory days of Bullyland's Stuttgart Museum Prehistoric Mammals line, item number 58356.
