Hello friends, this is the figure of Blue-and-yellow Macaw (Ara ararauna) Linnaeus, 1758 of Schleich. Total lenght 85 mm and its wingspan is 70 mm. This figure have been relased in this year. This species occurs in Venezuela and south to Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay. The range extends slightly into Central America, where it is restricted to Panama. Blue-and-yellow Macaws are popular as pets partly because of their striking appearance and ability as a talking bird.

Schleich released long time ago diferents species of tropical birds but this great collection currently, have been retired.  I think that this figure is a great replica of this animal. Colors are very nice and the sculpture, stand and details are very nice also, better than the old version. I think that currently it is a beautiful and great figure for collectors of birds in general. I bought this figure forthe birthday of my girlfriend yesterday  in a store of Cádiz (Spain) ^-^.

A beautiful figure and a little bigger than I expected (I've seen one last weekend in a toy shop). :) The paint job on the head looks especially good.

Yes, I think the same that you friend  ^-^. I think that one of the best point of this replica is the sculpture in general with the open wings, because it has dynamism and this make that thsi figure has a special beauty  ^-^.
