The Blanding's turtle, Emys (or Emydoidea) blandingii, by AAA has two problems: the colors and the sculpting. Total length is 3.75 inches, 9.5 cm. The major deficiencies can be corrected using acrylics and Milliput putty, as attempted here. The yellow throat is a field mark. Like the European pond turtle, Emys orbicularis, the Blanding's turtle has a notched upper jaw, expressing a smile.

AAA Blanding's turtle and customized version

Although this is a threatened species in Minnesota, a record population estimated at 5,000 turtles is located about 2 hours southeast of Saint Paul along the Mississippi River bottoms.

Great repaint, Stemturtle  :D Your customisation shows that AAA's models are actually very nice and a little more attention to colouration would vastly increase their attractiveness.

Well actually he mentioned he corrected the model using milliput...that would imply that there are more problems with the model than just paintwork. Looking at the first two images, you can see a definite change in the facial structure.

But yeah, it's an change for the better :)

They came flying from far away, now I'm under their spell....

Thanks for the replies, Jetoar, Battatitan, and Tyrantqueen.
The original model has many problems.  I changed only the intolerable errors.
The Blanding’s is a sweet species.
