Walk-around of the 2013 CollectA Wild Animals Pinta Island Tortoise, Chelonoidis nigra abingdonii (Günther, 1877). The figure is modeled after the famous specimen "Lonesome George" which died in 2012 and was the last known individual of its subspecies. However, the extinction of the Pinta Island Giant Tortoise is not certain, yet, and it has been suggested that one or very few introduced individuals may have survived on Isabela Island. Carapace length is 48.5 mm, so the scale is approx. 1:21 corresponding to Lonesome George's recorded carapace length of 1.02 m. Human figure (Minimen Andreas Köpke) is 1:20 scale.

I appreciate your excellent photos, brontodocus.
In the U.S. it may be as long as several weeks before the CollectA Lonesome George will be available.
I like the small size of this figure.

Another figure on my wish list. Thank you for sharing great photos of it and congrats! It's beautiful tortoise :D

Many thanks, Jetoar, stemturtle & Ana! :) So CollectA figures may come later to the U.S. than to Europe? I thought it was usually the opposite.

I do not know about release dates from CollectA for different countries.  I was looking for Lonesome George on H & H Winner’s Circle.  CollectA is based in London and Hong Kong.

Excellent walkaround, as usual, Andre.  As far as availability is concerned, CollectA and Mojo are both usually available in some European markets significantly sooner than in the US.  Many CollectA 2013 figures just arrived in the US last week and are reaching vendors now, this tortoise figure among them.  My store got the shipment in on Tuesday.  Mojo has yet to arrive (still waiting on an updated e.t.a. from the distributor, since they were due to arrive in mid August)
