Quote from: BlueKrono on January 09, 2025, 02:31:01 AM@sbell Ooh, I like that 3D print. I don't have a printer myself; would you be able to print me a copy? I'd be happy to reimburse you any costs. I'm a pretty competent painter, so I'd like to give that a go.

I'll see what I can do. I only have a filament printer so it can be a challenge to get a nice print. It's one thing when it's just for me!

It is possible to get prints on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1463776348/binturong-climbing-unpainted-animal-den

Would definitely be a better resin product. But I can see how my prints look!

Ooh, thank you for that. I agree, the resin prints are nice. I think I'll go that route. That seller is pretty reasonable.

They are! Hope they work for you!

I'm just kind of requoting here rather than taking up the original Toymany thread.

There was a question of a binturong toy, and other than occasionnal plush, there aren't any (Play Visions tricked us...).

I was aware of a few models from Amimal Den miniatures, and discovered that one of the files is free on MyMiniFactory.

So @BlueKrono  I tried it out... not sure I'd feel comfortable giving a print to someone (FDM printers have limits) but I gave one a shot, even painted with my limited skils and paints:

Was I smart enough to use my black filament? No. So I reprinted one while I painted the first (only the eyes are painted):

Since the photo, I have added more grey to the face, inspired by the version seen on the Etsy shop (which I'm pretty sure is a /12 model, this one is a 1/24.

Overall, I have to say it's a great file--for those with access, I would recommend the models Animal Den has created; even with filament, the prints are very clean and require very little cleanup.

The base...that took me more tries to get a good copy. And the binturong can't stand without it due to the tail curvature. But I'm glad I was inspired to find it! @BlueKrono it may not quite be a true 'toy' for your son, but it will probably be fine--kids used to play with Starlux and plaster dinosaurs, this would still hold up better!

At least until @Kenc gets Toymany to make a proper one...!
