Quote from: EpicRaptorMan on November 03, 2024, 07:34:10 PMCould have just called it the "Fantasy Toy Blog" or "Fictitious Toy Blog"

Not all monsters are fantasy creatures.
And even less monsters are fantasy creatures.
???

And haven't we learned that humans are the real monster?

I'm thinking of making a review of the 1998 Beast Wars Quickstrike, a fuzor. For those who don't know, a fuzor is two animals combined into one. In this case, Quickstrike has a scorpion body and a cobra head on the tail! I feel like he would fit well on this new blog, thoughts?

That would be a perfect fit, thanks! I'm planning to launch the blog properly tomorrow with the first review written specifically for the Monster Toy Blog, followed quickly by many other new reviews for a big launch week. After that, you may end up being the first guest reviewer! No rush though.

The submission process will be the same as the other blogs, email me at dinotoyblog@gmail.com I put instructions here: https://monstertoyblog.com/submit-review/

See the first post, does he fit into any of those categories?

@AnimalToyForum the images seem to be sizing weirdly on a phone.

The text flows right, but the photos are staying wide like on a desktop.

Just noticed the ATB is doing the same thing

Oh dear, this might be an artefact of widening the blogs recently. It looks normal on my phone (in portrait and landscape), so please could you take a screenshot, that would really help me understand and rectify the issue.

Use the blog to host your image if you like.

Thanks, really helpful. I have fixed it now. When I changed the width of the blog recently the images were automatically expanding to occupy the full width at first, and much too big. So, I set a maximum width for them at 700px - the old width of the articles. However, I missed a setting, so in mobile this max image width become the exact image width - wider than the screen. So the rest of the blog got squeezed down to accommodate the. I just fixed this by adding a new parameter, width=100%. So, under 700px the images will resize automatically. Seems to work now anyway.

Not sure if this is the place to ask but I didn't want to start a new thread.

Anyway, with the launch of MTB will we still do cryptids and such on April 1, 2025 on the ATB? Forum member Koifish would like to reserve a Bullyland unicorn for April 1 if we are still doing that, or should they be directed to MTB?

Feels more like a MTB post now.

April Fool's would be a good time for some really awful, poorly made figure that's barely recognizable (but treated with a straight face).

I like that approach, Sean! Or something vintage and not of today's quality. Or an obvious misidentification or mispackaging. Lots of possibilities.

Or some weird dollar store thing...years ago there was some kind of really bad transformer warrior dolphin thing. So awful

Looks like the Monster Toy Blog killed April Fools Day on the Animal Toy Blog.  :-[

There are still options, like really bad or obviously anatomically incorrect figures. Guess no one thought of something in time.

I literally didn't even think of it for either. It's a busy time of year for me.

Didn't seem to be part of the Dino Toy Blog this year either.

Gwangi

That's a good idea, but I don't really have anything like that.

Not sure that the DTB has too many April Fools reviews. I think someone (Suspsy, perhaps) did one last year but I've never written one.
