It looks like this might be a one figure year for CollectA for me, unless next week is all wildlife announcements :(

Interesting; I already have more 'YES' from CollectA than I did last year, and we still have one more week to go. And if the last two prehistoric reveals are what rumors say they are, those will be two more!!!

I hope they're saving the best for last.  :P

It seems like it is a good year to be a prehistoric collector...but I need to limit myself somewhere!

Much as I root for any new figures of abyssal and certain other oddball sea creatures I actually prefer not too many to come out at once, it makes it easier to keep up and it feels more special I guess when they do come out.  (not to mention there are a few obscure older figures I'm still on the hunt for anyway)  So as long as they do still produce the occasional figure of interest it keeps me invested enough.

plus any species that don't get made potentially leave me the possibility of one day being the first to produce a model of one
  ;)

I hear ya! I wish the Japanese companies would cool it with arthropods for a while LOL

The angelshark is a fan favourite for me!
I'd just wanted it a bit smaller, though.

A bit dissapointed by the small selection of terrestrial wildlife, but very happy with both sharks and dolphin.
The llama will also be a good replacement and the koolasuchus is fine, interesting taxonomically, but I'm afraid on the paintjob of the real figure and it seems to have scales!!!. Also, isn't the tail a bit too short?

First post updated with week four reveals

Angel shark is cool. Definitely improves my mood from the shitty day I've been having LOL

The angel shark could be a maybe for me, if not too big and a different species that Play Visions (the CollectA one does look a lot like the Australian angel shark...)

Oh wow, another shark, and a species I don't have. I think I'm more excited about the angel than I am the goblin shark. The right whale looks good too and I still don't have Safari's. But Papo appears to have a right whale for this year too so I'm eager to see how that one turns out.

For me, this is a strong year from CollectA. The angel and goblin shark, river dolphin, Jersey cow, Koolasuchus, and Handrosaurus are all high priority.

EDIT: If the angel shark  is Squatina squatina then it would be about 1/20 in scale.

The Angel shark went on my wishlist; I can replace the PV version. Man, as of now I am at 10 each for CollectA and Papo. I am going to be much more conservative for Japanese arthropods in 2023 ;-)

MudpupWaterdog

Emphatic yes! to the Amazon River Dolphin and the Angel Shark! Those are the two standouts here for me, and they'll allow me to retire my PV versions, both of which I find kind of ugly but have been unable to replace until now. I'll probably still keep them for the history, but these Collecta versions look so much better.

Probably going to get the Koolasuchus despite the flaws, I was such a huge fan of Walking with Dinosaurs and I love non-dinosaur Mesozoic life. Shastasaurus on the short list for the same reason.

I like the anomalocaris but I already have better ones from Japan, and I'll hold off on the Right Whale until we see what Papo's doing. I have the Safari one already and don't think it needs replacing but I can be convinced to double-up.

Not gonna lie, I am rather disappointed at how wildlife keeps getting short shrift. But I do like that CollectA made two unusual sharks.

At least we're getting 9 horses.  ::)

I know, I know...horse toys are more popular than other animals.

I have 10 things on my CollectA 2023 want list, so I can't complain
