ID for AAA Hatchetfish?

I believe I may actually have found the answer to this; I also had wondered what type of hatchetfish the AAA figure was supposed to be for a while, but recently came across an old set of cards depicting various bio-luminescent sea life, with a fish that looks strikingly similar.  It seems to be a Polyipnus spinosus, or "spiny hatchetfish" if the figure was in fact inspired by this old painting.  If you do a Google image search of "Liebig Polyipnus spinosus" you should find the image fairly immediately.  Also other images of it do look quite similar in shape, but this particular depiction has almost the exact same coloration as well.
