Wanted to share some species that I are on a want list of mine. Some were already turned into figures at one point but are discontinued or not up to par...or both.

Here's my personal want list:

- Gharial
- Pronghorn

- Barracuda
- Yellowfin Tuna
- Hooded Seal

Gharial (species) > Papo. I have. Just perfect in every sense.

Pronghorn (species) > Mojo Fun (I recommend it much over the Safari one). I have. Needs fix in paintjob but sculpt is superb.

Arapaima (species) > Colorata. Expensive if you buy it alone, it belongs to a set. Waiting for mine that arrived just at time for my birthday (July) but due to incompetence of postal system of my country, this figure with the remaining of the Fossil Fish set are now in Japan in sender's home and still doing tramits for send me again.

Barracuda (genus with various species) >. Kaiyodo Aquatales. In my wishlist since ages.

Yellowfin tuna (species) > Safari LTD. Belongs to a set (Pelagic fish toob) and it's probably the only figure of this set that I find good sizewise for my collection. Ages ago there was a shop that sells this figure alone. I don't know if they still do. I want it for my collection.

Hooded seal (species). No brand did a good one yet. For that reason it's one of the many species I wanted to do myself. If you're enough interested I can make one for you under commision.

Squirrel monkey (genus with various species). Schleich. It's a good one, tough I would prefair a slightly smaller one.

Mandrill (species). Tons of good figures to choose and many still in production. For my collection I chosen the old Schleich one (just because I found it for sale at a local stationery, and I liked it). Papo's one is good too.

Moray eel (a whole family with several genus and tons of species). Many species done by many brands. Most available would be maybe green moray eel by Safari that comes in two sizes, normal one and Incredible Creatures one. Schleich moray is good also. I don't remember the brand but a Japanese one released not many months ago a series of bendable morays of about 4-5 species with figures of ceramic pots/jars for fit the morays in.

Masai giraffe (less than a species). From what I've found, the Mojo giraffe (still in production) 381008 represents the Masai subspecies.

Dik dik (genus with various species). No brand will ever do a convinicing one, the thin legs will be always thickened. At the moment no brand released one. If you want one I think not many more options left than buy a 3-D printed unpainted one from a person that do many ABC African animal hyperrealistic in very dynamic positions (but whose name I forgot).

Flying fruit fox (a mix of names, fruit bat or flying fox, but is the same, a whole family with several genus and a lot of species). Many to choose. Some of the figures that I remember to have appeared at one or another time in someone's collection are Kaiyodo Furuta Chocoegg Ryukyu fruit bat (in flight), Yowies Livingstone's flying fox (a relatively recent release, hanging from a branch), Eikoh Indian flying fox (also recent, hanging but with no branch), OpenToys Giant golden-crowned flying fox (in flight), and probably the best, Ikimon/Kitan Club Nature Techni Colour Bonin flying fox (haning from an Agave inflorescence which is pollinating).

Pink river dolphin (species). None of the options convince me totally but most famous are K&M boto (very contrasting colours, small size) Play Visions Amazon river dolphin (not bad, but too large for my taste) and the Safari LTD Dolphin's toob one, that like all dolphins of this toob, it's really small (but otherwise perfect).

Dingo (species). Several good options to choose but what I find the best rendition is the Southland Replicas one. I have it.

Gelada Baboon (species, and is not a baboon). No brand did one, I planned to do one. You have the option of buy the Likaonmodels one (https://www.likaonmodels.com/available-models.html) but it's expensive and I don't like the posiition of it.

Hamadryas baboon (species). Several brands did one, but none are of my taste. Best one are the Furuta Chocoegg mother carrying child, but for a large male, all branded ones are at least badly painted.

Japanese giant salamander (species). As expected for a Japanese iconic animal, there are about INFINITE options to choose. I went for my collection with the super perfect Ikimon (salamander set) one, due to realism and size, but you can end bored of comparing the endless Japanese giant salamander figurines by several brands.

Japanese macaque (species). Same than the previous. For me, the most perfect is the Ikimon/Kitan Club one, that is in my wishlist since aaaaaaaages. It will not match in size with the black crested macaque (not black-crested macaque) that you're waiting by mail, however. That Sulawesi macaque is really overgrown compared with many of my other figures.

Wobbegong (genus with various species). No other options than the excellent Schleich (in my wishlist since ages), but for get it you must buy it as part of a set with seafloor, coral, starfish and a diver. That's why I don't have ot.
